      “Axis Vs. Allies”

      A complex and fun WWII tactical war game for Sega Genesis, this game can be played by 1 or 2 players as Allied or Axis forces.

      The game that I’m selling is complete-in-box (CIB) with the manual and map, in superb condition.

      Pictured here:  http://imgur.com/5YVM5Lw

      Asking $30 obo / trade.

      With the newer titles you have blank factory tiles that would work well for your ideas as well as the tiles marked “3” and “10” from the Global games.

      Following up:

      I went out and bought a can of chrome spray-paint from a Blick arts-and-crafts store, and did a few tests on some B-17’s…

      I’ll post pictures if anyone wants to see them.  It looks great.  Nice, even coating… very lustrous.  With some added details I think my late-war aircraft are going to look amazing.

      Thanks for the feedback, everyone.

      @AlphaKappa:

      Does 1914 Italy orange = A&A 1940 Japan orange?
      What about USA, USSR? Are those the same? (because it looks to me like they’re different shades, but it’s a bit difficult to tell)
      Does anybody know yet?  I just can’t wait until release! I’ve gotta knowÂ

      I’ve posted some comparative pictures here:

      @AlphaKappa:

       Which Neutral Powers would have the economic equivalent of a “Minor Industrial Complex”?

      I think Spain, Turkey and Sweden are the obvious neutral powers that have a large enough industrial base to build their own tanks, planes and ships. Depending on how the sculpts are going to look, I think the Italian burnt orange will fit Spain, and maybe the french dark blue will fit Sweden. Turkey already got their units.

      Maybe use the medium green for Brazil, and lime green to supply China.

      Maybe even Canada can have own nation specific units ?

      The Russian maroon will fit Mongolia I guess

      southern france is easier than normandy g1. you can get one of those fighters in east europe somewhere (you know the one that is out of range from naval and you usually send to yugoslavia than italy). 3 mech fighter good to go.

      I prefer to just do france. Though I like the southern france move when I am doing some kind of sea lion play. Prevents uk from merging fleet off gibraltar.

      In this instance I prefer to take yugoslavia.

      However if I am undecided… yeah I like the strafe. Shove east poland g2 no prob, start advancing sooner. It is really good if you plan on going all in on russia G5. It super all in, all the allies have to do is figure out a way to save russia. That is the whole game right there.

      Divide by 6.

      I find the opposite… most people like to gamble. Because they can score more hits :D

      Just ask yourself… If 3 of your infantry get waxed by an overwhelming force in one turn.  Do you take the 1 statistical hit, or chance for 3 hits on your opponent!?

      Absolutely knp. I guess I should elaborate. :-)  A research team is actually just a single die roll that is expended once rolled, but the result is permanent.

      Example:  Germany goes after Jet Fighter construction that has a breakthrough value of 18. The German player buys 3 research teams (die rolls) that result in a 3, 5, and 2; for a total of 10. The 10 points is not enough to gain the tech, but the points rolled are permenant. On the following turn, the German player buys 3 more research teams towards Jet Fighters. This time the results are 6, 4, and 3 for a total of 13. With the previous balance of 10 the German player would have a total of 23 which exceeds the breakthrough value of 18 thus granting the player access to the Jet Fighter Tech.

      We play that purchasing tech teams, and the tech rolls happen prior to purchasing units, so new techs would be available for purchase the same turn it was achieved.

      As for what techs are available to each power, it’s nearly identical for each power except that each power receives a country spacific tech.

      Germany: Jet Fighters
      Britain: *Landing Craft
      Japan: I-400 Subs w/ Aichi Bomber
      Russia: Kaytusha Rockets
      US: Flying Fortress Bombers

      (* Although not really a British tech we find this has the best in-game application for the unit)

      Hopefully, that sheds a little more light on the topic. If anyone is interested I can email some additional detailed info. Just message me with your email.

      @AlphaKappa:

      As the title says, one of my friends who I play Global 1940 with gets frustrated when his perfectly-orchestrated strategy falls apart due to bad luck (and to be fair, he can often be a pretty unlucky roller).

      If his strategy is so perfectly orchestrated. why can’t he win with poor dice rolls?.. I mean it’s not like he’s only rolling 5’s and 6’s. I’ve been playing A&A since 93, and I can tell you that dice rolling is about attitude. In the past, I would throw my dice across the room and curse with an unsportsmanlike temper… needless to say, my attitude about luck has matured with an enlightened perspective. I now see bad luck as a challenge rather than a handicap.

      You could mix the 1st and 2nd edition ANZACs to represent different Commonwealth dominions.

      Could spraypaint the Italians to be German proxies/minors.

      It was due to the high shipping costs (close to $55)……all the Wizard of the Coast titles arrive to Greece through the U.K. and German distributors, they arn,t printed in Greece…to buy a copy in a greek store would cost you about $110,00…
