      Hello folks, just a quick question. I saw that the bid was 2 subs 98. I thought there is a limit on 1 unit per territory or sz, did you guys mutually agree on something else or is multiple units in one sz ok in general? Just need to know for my further games.

      the 2013 league rules was

      4b - Bidding - You will be bidding for the Axis.
      An Auction style of bidding will be used.  Players may announce their desired bid in IPCs while trying to find an opponent.  Any player can accept the bid or attempt to negotiate the bid up or down until an agreement is reached.  The ipcs can then be spent on units.
      If both players bid the same (or cannot agree on a bid) the sides are chosen by random by the bid server or a random in-house dice roll.
      Standard bid placement rules apply for all bids.  (Same as previous leagues)  
      Negative bids translate into bids for allied units, no units may be bid to be “removed” from the initial setup

      you could place multiple units a territory.

      2014 league bidding has changed slightly

      4b - Bidding Bidding will be used in order that both players are satisfied with the side they are playing and the starting setup.  Players may negotiate with one another, with the following default settings:

      1. Adding units to sea zones - There must already be a unit of the same power in the sea zone
      2. Adding units to territories Territory must be controlled by the power placing units (e.g. UK can be added to Egypt, ANZAC cannot, French can be added to France, UK cannot)
        Players may agree prior to bidding to change these default settings for their game.

      i feel the bidding rules are a little unclear for newcomers and should be reworded.

      most players now like to play one unit per territory and will specify it at the beginning. however, i did not give hank13 a chance to discuss any particular bid rules so we went with standard. which hank13 succinctly pointed out as a dirtbag move.

      legal as u.s.a. and japan are not at war, and u.s.a did not end their moves in a seazone touching a japanese territory.

      On Round 4, Japan moves a battleship, 3 cruisers and 2 subs from SZ 6 to SZ 25 to conduct combat on the U.S. destroyer. The two Japanese destroyers from the Round 3 noncombat move are still in SZ 25, but the Japanese player decides they are not going to be part of the combat in the sea zone.

      Then, after the Conduct Combat phase is completed, Japan then moves those two destroyers that did not make a combat move and were not involved in the conduct combat phase and they make a noncombat move out of SZ 25 and move to another sea zone.

      the japanese player can combat move new units into sz25 for battle.
      the japanese player can not leave the destroyers in sz25 without participating in the combat.
      the japanese player can move the destroyers out of sz25 in the combat move phase to avoid combat. this is also true if you have a navy in a sz and your opponent, that you are at war with, builds a naval unit into the sz making it contested.
