    • RE: How many mistakes on Europe 40??? Let's wager ;)

      Well before we start exploring what might and what might not get thru to customer service at WOTC…
      Well, I didn’t start this thread but seriously I doubt the target audience is WOTC… and I’m very sure it’s not Krieghund who is as close to a paragon of virtue and benevolence that this forum sees.

      And since when is a little jab a bad thing when expressed with dark humour to people who are not strangers to the subject of said rant. Sheesh, must everything be singing Kumbaya and holding hands?

    • RE: Larry talks about France

      In terms of who shares a box with the French, I think it’d come down to how many territories they are set-up in.

      If the other power is all over the map then the set-up text won’t leave room for the French set-up.

      Of course Hitler’s alive…. he’s just bitter he got turned down for the moderator’s job.

      @Wilson2:

      The Canadian roundels are just for aesthetics - Larry said so.

      Went thru the Global facts thread and I can’t see him saying that they’re only there for looks.

      @FieldMarshalGames:

      @finnman:

      Fmg will you sell the exras sepuratly.

      The “Extras” Set will be like the other Nations, it will be available for sale separately.

      NOTE: After the release of ITALY, the other Nations will be coming in quick succession.  The Factory is already working on the German Sculpts!  As you have seen they have been coming faster and faster.

      The first Nation was the biggest challenge with a learning curve for both us and our factory….  Now that we have a system in place I am confident that the ENTIRE project will see completion in 2011 including all Nations and the “Extras” set.

      Excellent news!  :-D

    • RE: What do you want to be the next AA game?

      @Emperor_Taiki:

      @calvinhobbesliker:

      Umm, let’s look at a few:
      CBI: P40 doesn’t have flying over the hump, a difficult  China/India, or guerilla forces in China
      Med: E40 won’t have supply lines, more territories in N.Africa, or large navies in the Med
      Eastern Front: E40 won’t have partisans, trucks, or oil
      Atlantic: E40 won’t have convoys in the middle of the ocean, or the ability for the allies to scramble air

      Those are house rules, not a new game.

      I think what CHL is trying to say is that the theatre scale games or global miss some defining characteristics that a new dedicated operational game could incorporate into the OOB rules.

      Now if we could only FMG to re-stock the connect hex for Catan (or whatever they’re called)… look quite cool.

    • RE: Next A&A Big Battle game

      Midway would be awesome to see how they incorporate the Fog of War and other factors that came into play historically.

      If it’s just a flat out CAG slug fest it would be disappointing, IMTO.

      And Battle of Britain… I’d get behind that only if you can carry on to a full Sea Lion.
      But that’s just me.

    • RE: New techs?????????

      @oztea:

      The only posiblities for Improved Mech Infantry is one or a combonation of the following:
      They become 2/2
      They can blitz without a tank
      They can carry an infantry with them at 1:1

      Personally, I’d hope that it’s the middle one. It seems to be the most historically correct IMTO.

      Becoming 2/2 implies an increase in lethality which is more like a late Cold War development (Bradleys and other MICV/IFVs) whereas blitzing would be a doctrinal development and enhancing the mobility of your logistics to continue offensive operations.

      As for the last one. I can’t see the lift capacity increasing… while I’m guilty of thinking of APCs as armoured taxis it’s not like a mech inf formation carries a bunch of empty vehicles on it’s order of battle just to pick up strays on the side of the road.

    • RE: Larry talks about France

      From the list of facts announced by LH:

      @Imperious:

      AAE40 and AAE40 Fact Sheet: (Reformatted version of above)
      Unique French infantry pieces (blue color) Infantry will have a unique sculpt, while tanks, and non-infantry will use existing sculpts from other players (mostly using allied sculpts). France has its own national tokens.

      Since we know the French tank sculpt will not be uniquely French from previous LH posts, I’m thinking it’s pretty certain that they’ll get the Sherman. Not the T-34.

      Well hopefully they’ll be quick with the Germans. I imagine sales will be a little brisker for them than the Italians… unless AAE40 has a deficiency like the Japanese tac bombers.

      Crude but effective. Isn’t that what we used to say about Soviet kit?

      And have to agree about the value of that logistics ball and chain keeping up to the sharp end. Good points CWO.

      Hey on the the Europe 40 box…Who are the people on the front? I only know Patton

      Who never gave an order more sophisticated than “charge” btw

      OK haven’t seen the box art for awhile… but I think it’s Marshal and Zhukov isn’t it?
      Must be somebody else… sigh must I look for the link?  :|

      OK throw in Rommel for good measure.  That guy’s like a ghost eh?

      I think he’s worried that WOTC will not give enough Italian pieces on the presumption that Italy will be a minor nation and not gain the IPCs to crank out a lot of units on a broad front or otherwise creating the requirement for something other than chips.

      It’s just people getting nervous and over eager for the other half of the game.  And bitching about how AAP40 turned out. Glass half-empty stuff IMTO.

      @reloader-1:

      BTW I am fully expecting to receive too few Italian pieces. I really feel that they can be a major power in this game.

      Agreed. There is some potential there and hopefully WOTC doesn’t short us.

      Stalingrad. Kursk. Market Garden.

      But  :| Not sure if the absence of the “home team” will be a deciding factor in the first two.
