I don’t know about different initial setup but Russia would lose and UK would be down to its capital fairly soon

RE: Kill Japan First (KJF)posted in Axis & Allies Revised Edition
I don’t think America needs the 5 IPCs as much as UK but if UK takes Borneo it is probably going to lose India and its Pacific Fleet which I don’t think it should do in a KJF strategy

RE: Kill Japan First (KJF)posted in Axis & Allies Revised Edition
But if UK loses India / Egypt Japan has a path into Asia and unless US builds an IC in Sinkiang on US1 there is only Russia to defend it

RE: US IC in Norwayposted in Axis & Allies Revised Edition
Yea by US3 you can already have an effective transport system into Europe that is much more efficient than a US IC in Norway. Sure it will help but its not necessary.

RE: Kill Japan First (KJF)posted in Axis & Allies Revised Edition
But it can’t defend all it’s islands … and you guys don’t build ICs in Sinkiang or India in KJF?

RE: Kill Japan First (KJF)posted in Axis & Allies Revised Edition
In KJF strategy how much Russian forces do you divert to the east per turn ?

RE: Time Travelingposted in General Discussion
Nah, you can travel to the past all you want, you just can’t get back to report that you did it!
Common! Explains Romulus and Remus. Ghenghis Kahn. Alexander. Caesar. The Founders. King Aurthur!
Actually all you would have to do is accept that its a one way trip and leave a note in a specific area designated before you leave that is untouched and then the second after you leave they will have the report

RE: Do you take Astralia/NZ/Hawaii as Japan?posted in Axis & Allies Revised Edition
@ncscswitch:
And you reduce yourself to China being your ONLY gain in Asia, unless UK abandoned India.
What else do you take as Japan on J1 in Asia … I usually only take China on J1 and then on J2 I move into Russia and Sinkiang

RE: How to counter the G1 Carrier (w/UK)posted in Axis & Allies Revised Edition
If you don’t build the carrier on G1 Britain can use it’s 2 FIGs and Bomber to wipe out the fleet in the Baltic on UK1 and then Germany has to keep units in Germany and Eastern Europe to defend

@ncscswitch:
Or IGNORE the Russian fleet AND Africa, and just slam everything you can into Caucuses, stage everything forward possible, and destroy Russia on G3 or so…
You’re right … I tried playing it on TripleA and I had not enough infantry :| woulda been cool to have a Russian Navy

RE: Attacking Ukraineposted in Axis & Allies Revised Edition
If you are planning on attacking Ukraine I think it would be fun to build an AC and Trn on R1 and then Germany has a big problem on their hands  … either attack the British DST and take Egypt or attack the Russian Navy with almost all you Air Force which would realy mess up their normal plans … but I’m sure there are some critisms and I doubt I would do it …

RE: Which direction in Japan's multi-pronged approach?posted in Axis & Allies Revised Edition
How, exactly, though, can I threaten/take the Caucasus if I first have to take Persia and then wait another turn with Russia up to bat before me? They can/could easily crush/strafe my stack and then I’d be really in trouble and not be able to do anything at all. Is there an easy or simple way to attept to threaten the Cauc without first being annhiliated on the run in?
You could transport troops right into Africa without worrying about Persia until you are ready

RE: Uk R1 Egyptian counterattackposted in Axis & Allies Revised Edition
If you attack Egypt on UK1 with 3 Inf(2 from India,1 from T-J) and 1 Fig(Indian Carrier) do you still attack the Japanese Trn in Sz 59? If so with what?
-
RE: Which direction in Japan's multi-pronged approach?posted in Axis & Allies Revised Edition
I usually go through China and Russia for two reasons …
- You can take 8 IPCs from Russia which helps Germany and if they are doing their job right that will leave Russia with only Moscow,Cauc,WRU, and archangel … 16 IPCs a turn
- I usually build ICs in Manchuria and Kwangtung so by going through China I can have tanks in Moscow in 2 turns

RE: Uk R1 Egyptian counterattackposted in Axis & Allies Revised Edition
My Indian Strategy basically depends on who I play … but usually if I know someone is going to attack it anyway (and Japan can almost always take it) I will take back Egypt and then pull back into Persia and then with America also landing in Algeria on US1 Germany will be out of Africa on US2 and if they do attack Egypt again on G2 they will just have commited more forces into Africa and away from Russia and I will eventually just chase them out anyway with USA

RE: Attacking Ukraineposted in Axis & Allies Revised Edition
But what is good about attacking Ukraine and WRU is that even if you do below average on WRU Germany has to worry about Ukraine.

RE: Philippine Islandsposted in Axis & Allies Revised Edition
Sometimes i do, sometimes I dont…Kinda depends on if I’m talking about just a nation’s turn or an allied/axis turn strat over all. In this case, yes, I meant Round 1.
End R1:
Russia down Karelia, up W. Russia
Germany down W. Russia, up Egypt and Karelia
England down Egypt, up Phil, New Guinea
Japan down Phil, New Guinea, up China
America down ChinaThe odds of taking New Guinea seem too shaky to just assume Japan will lose it … I’ve tried it a couple times with 2 INF vs 1 INF and its almost equal odds …
