“Aaahh, Venice” is from Indiana Jones and the Last Crusade.

…and Major:  Here’s the answers to the ones you didn’t get:
“You spilled my warm cup of piss” is from The Last Boy Scout.
“F*ck Martha Stewart…” is from Fight Club.

      How about these?  :-P

“You cold-blooded b*stard!  I’ll tell you what I think of it!  I’ll live to see you eat that contract!  But I hope you leave enough room for my fist because I’m going to ram it into your stomach, and break your G**damn spine!”

“But like my plastic surgeon always said, ‘If you gotta go, go with a smile!’”

“Really; I live in Queens.  Did you put that together yourself Einstein?  Whaddya got a team of monkeys workin’ around the clock on this?”

“What devil or saint was ever so great as Attila whose blood…flows in these veins?”

The line "Get away from her you B*tch is from Aliens.

And now one that describes this thread:
“Very good, Lewis.  Short, but pointless.”

      And a few others:
“You know what?  F*ck you, man.  Any moron with a pack of matches can start a fire.  Raining down sulfur is like an endurance trial - Mass genocide is the most exhausting activity one can engage in, next to soccer!”

"You know what one of the causes of short-term memory loss is, Leonard?  Venereal disease.  Maybe your cnt of a fckin’ wife sucked one too many diseased ccks and turned you into a fckin’ retard!"  (Brutal, I know.  Mods - Sorry if that last one still doesn’t cut it with the asterisks I used to censor it.  I just happen to think this is a great movie - pretty obscure, but let’s see if anyone gets it!)

“You spilled my warm cup of piss.”

“…I don’t know what happened to you, but if you ever, ever, tank another play like you did today, I’m gonna cut your nuts off, and stuff ‘em down your f*ckin’ throat!”

“Oooh, I’m really scared!  No!  Don’t!  There’s a…a peck here with an acorn pointed at me!”

“Yeah well what the hell you know about it Capone?  What’re you in for?”
“Me?  Lawyer f*cked me.  Everybody’s innocent in here, don’t you know that?”

“F*ck Martha Stewart.  She’s polishing the brass on the Titanic; it’s all goin’ down, man!”

      Great thread dude!

Or have it so that your reinforcements only come in when your flag gets captured, and you win by having more “flag points” when all the total forces run out.

For the teams, maybe have a starting team of 100 points, and then three consecutive reinforcement teams of 50 points each.  Too much?  :|

    • RE: Future expansions wish list

Actually, just today I was talking to a buddy of mine about it.  I was considering just using an Allied marker from A&A Revised for the Allied “Flag” while using an Axis marker for the Axis “Flag”.  If these actually represent “Strongholds” then I’m not sure how it will affect occupying units’ defenses, cover, etc.  Any suggestions?

    • RE: Future expansions wish list

I like the idea of having fortifications that you can place wherever.  I’ve said before in different places that I’m not all about historical accuracy or historical realism.  With that in mind, I would like to set up a game where the teams are not fighting over a common objective, but sort of a “capture the flag” kind of deal.  To avoid the game ending when the teams’ forces get blasted, I’d have reinforcements coming in at regular intervals.  Maybe one WEEK when I have nothing to do, I’ll set up a game like that.

I like the idea of air units.  Maybe have different planes, and possibly ships too.  The ships would be a lot more involved, I know.  But, if you chose to use ships AND planes, then you could have map tiles that have one side that is land, and the other side be water.  A small-scale naval battle would be cool.

However, I also think there should be some tiles that have beachheads.  This way, you could have amphibious landings, sending troops into the beachhead hexes to assault enemy held land.  And with the addition of air units, you could use them to strike enemy positions.  (If this is the case, you might wanna include AA units or abiliities.)

That last idea seems pretty cool!  …but what would you use to represent these Mech Infantry?

    • RE: Where to buy?

That would be be nice!  Lemme just say that A&A Minis is considered a “collectible” game, so you should be able to get it at a store that sells other collectible games, like Magic, D&D, and things of that sort.  A comic book store, maybe?  I know that’s where I always pick up mine…

    • RE: Where to buy?

Oh well no arguments here - The only way I was able to use two King Tigers was by making it a 300 point game!  And as far as the smaller value pieces, I easily have at least 10 of each type of set I MG, five Tiger I’s, quite a few Shermans, as well as quite a few Panzer IV’s, and the list goes on…  And back to CBennett, if you want to buy any units direct, I can see which ones I have in surplus.  Because once again, I want to have a complete set, so I can’t give you my last one of any unit.  :-)

    • RE: Best German Tank?

With regards to djensen’s last reply, I figure that the theme behind the German tanks is NOT to let the enemy get behind you.  If you set your armor up in a line formation, then you can just blast anyone who approaches your line.  (Kinda like Missile Command!)

    • RE: Where to buy?

I’m in no position to talk about how much money it’ll cost you.  I’ve already spent three figures on it, and let’s say that by the time set 3 or 4 rolls around, it’ll be up to four figures.  Unhealthy, I know.
But, with what you said at first, I’m making it a point to get a complete set.  However many boosters I’ve bought to achieve this, I’ve come out with some extras that I wasn’t necessarily looking for.

    • RE: What are the most effective units?

In a 100-point game, I’m not sure if it would be worth it.  I played a 300-point game recently, and I used two.  They have the best defense I’ve ever seen (frontal defense anyway) and monstrous attack values against vehicles.  Just know that it can destroy any other tank going one-on-one.

I sure hope you’re allowed to do that, because I have, and wasn’t sure if I was breaking any rules.

    • RE: SNLF Captain

However, now that I think about it, if the SNLF Captain actually were a paratrooper, then he should be worth more points. (maybe 9 or 10)  I was using him to drop him strategically next to my snipers/MGs to hurt their targets’ cover rolls.  :-D

    • RE: What are the most effective units?

I managed to play a 300 point game the other day.  Before I go into the team details, lemme just say that we didn’t give two sh*ts about historical accuracy.  So yes, Germans and Japs were fighting together, as well as Brits and Americans alongside Russians.  So here’s the teams. (as best as I can recall)

      Axis

      2 King Tigers - 142
      1 Nashorn - 45
      1 SdKfz 251 - 14
      2 SS Hauptsturmfuhrers - 14
2 SNLF Captains - 12 (I used these as paratroopers by the way)
      4 MG42 Machine-Gun Teams - 40
      3 Imperial Snipers - 24
      1 SS Panzergrenadier - 5
      1 Blackshirt - 4
      Total = 300

      Allies

      1 IS-2 - 68
      2 Guards T34/85s - 66
      2 M3 Stuarts - 30
      1 Red Devil Captain - 7
      2 Screaming Eagle Captains - 22
      4 Screaming Eagle Paratroopers - 36
      4 Vickers Machine-Gun Teams - 32
      3 Fanatical Snipers - 24
      3 Polish Cavalry - 12
      Total = 297

In short, I (Axis) won the game.  However, the ending was very anti-climactic.  I don’t blame this on the 300 points, but just the units that we had toward the end.  Both of our units held the objective, but my remaining units (both King Tigers) and his units (3 Paratroopers and a Paratrooper Captain) couldn’t kill each other.  So when I say I won, I just mean that we reached round 10, and I had killed more of his stuff than he had of mine.  (The King Tiger is awesome!)

    • RE: SNLF Captain

So I was in the wrong?  That sux… Not only because I made a mistake, but because that means the Japs don’t have a Commander who is also a paratrooper, unlike the US.  I’m just all about the good guys and bad guys being evenly matched.  :-)

    • SNLF Captain

I played a game yesterday, and some of my forces were paratroopers.  One thing I didn’t mention to my opponents ('cuz I didn’t think it made sense) was that the SNLF Captain’s stat card has no mention of the Paratrooper ability.  To over-analyze the rules, this would mean that you can’t just drop him anywhere, like with other paratroopers.  But what would be the point of that?!?  Has anyone else noticed this?  Or was I just hallucinating during that game?  :?

    • RE: Different Set-up

I would love to play a free-for-all with four 200 point teams.  That seems more feasible now that the Russkies are not as weak of a force.  (Have you seen the new IS-2?)  Of course, every side has some cool new units, like the new King Tiger (which a buddy of mine named “The Super Tank”, for obvious reasons.)  And also, paratroopers are nice, as are snipers.  One thing about the new set that I’ve noticed is that every nation has become more rounded, like the US and Russia getting anti-tank guns, and the Japs getting a tank destroyer.  I find the new set to be an improvement.
