    • RE: CONTESTED SKIES INFO

That’s similar to how I was hoping they would set it up.  Thus far, I’ve only heard talk about fighters, so it’s refreshing to hear someone talk about bombers.  :-D

    • RE: Where To Purchase Case From

I bought a case of Set II when it came out; I’m a regular at a store here in Hampton Roads, and the owner allowed me to reserve a case, so I just went and picked it up when the set premiered.

    • RE: Favorite Army

Well, the reason I don’t care for the Chinese is because EVERY unit of theirs has some kind of drawback.  (Yes, I consider a commander with no abilities other than Init +1 to be a drawback)  And if you wanna play strictly historical, then who do the Chinese fight?  That’s right - the Japs!  Even with the somewhat poor Japanese selection of tanks, I think they have enough forces to level the Chinese.

    • RE: Future expansions wish list

Well, why not just let your imagination run wild?  I’ve always considered designing maps that obviously don’t exist, just to accentuate having a definite “attacker” and “defender” position…

    • RE: Questions from a newbie

Yeah, I’ve bought enough so that I now have eight map tiles.  However, I don’t think I’ve ever used more than six.  You’re right though; four tiles is WAY too small, at least for the type of fierce battles I enjoy!

    • RE: Help help help!

      1. I believe that heavy bombers do two dice worth of IPC damage

      2. Rockets are not “made” by anything.  Just keep in mind that during your turn, if you have the Rockets tech, your AA guns can roll one die worth of IPC damage against an enemy complex up to three spaces away

      3. I don’t recall running into this situation before, but I don’t see why not…

      4. I think I’ve heard that it is possible to order more units, but just remember:  Do you really want the possibility of the board getting that cluttered?

      I hope this helps…  :-)

Are you talking about Set I of A&A Minis?  If so, then you should be able to find it at Comic Book/Collectible Stores; the same places you can buy Magic.

As for farg’s comment, I’m pretty sure I’ve seen somewhere that they will add motorcycles in Set 3.  Grenades would be rather cool, adding a nice new variable.  Sure, the Vickers and the .30 cal may have been just about the same thing, but I think they should add it anyway, if only to make the game more realistic - like in the case of playing a battle where there were only American troops against the Axis.

    • RE: Can transports be taken as casualties during a amphibious assult?

No they cannot, because they aren’t technically “involved” as far as the trading of ammunition.

    • RE: A thought regarding initial set-up

That sounds interesting.  Usually, we just change up the teams. (Like Germany and Russia vs. Everyone else, or maybe Germany and US vs. Everyone else)  Your idea, however, serves to make the game even more diverse - I gotta bring it up to my crew!  Thanks man!

    • RE: Post here if you would trade in this forum.

I only listed the R-2 LT-35 because I’ve run into other people who need that piece too.  Chances are that I’ll have more than one of any unit you guys might want…

Thing is though, I still want my available forces to be versatile enough.  For this reason, I don’t think I’ll trade all but one of certain units.

    • RE: Hi

If you compare this game to that other collectible card game, Magic, then you might just guess that there will be somewhere in the vicinity of a ba-zillion expansions!   Seriously, though, I agree with djensen that it will continue until the game loses its popularity.  No guess as to how long THAT will take…

    • RE: Axis & Allies Miniatures Set 3: Contested Skies

Good point Mal.  In terms of their land involvement, planes can just do bombing runs, etc. and not mess up the scale of the game.

With the dogfights I was referring to, you’re right:  No, planes could not move realistically if the hexes were still only 100 meters across.  For the dogfights, maybe insert a rule that says “When fighting with only planes, use the water side of the map, and take each hex to represent 1000 meters across.”  Or you could use a different number, if you wish…  :-)

    • RE: Best jokes

Thank you nut.  I think that’s the direction people need to go.  How come when an issue gets off-subject, the mods delete it or move it.  But when it’s something like this, where people can get offended (one of the greatest cop-outs of our society by the way)  especially when one or more of the mods put in their two cents, then the filtering process simply goes away.  Just because you’re getting pissed about an issue, that doesn’t mean that you can quit doing what mods do!  :x

      These are pretty sick…

Q: Why did the little girl fall off the swing?
A: Because she had no arms.

Q: How do you get a dog to stop humping your leg?
A: Pick him up and suck his d*ck.

      EEeeeewwwww…  :-(
