Again, it just seems incredibly strange if Craig were to just be done and they continue on with a new actor for Bond as if absolutely nothing had changed. I would find that hard to deal with.

It feels wrong I agree Hoff - but they’ve made it work time and again over however many changes of Bond across so many films. Bond is sufficiently fixed in the mind of the audience regardless of the actor playing him - a strength of the franchise - and a weakness.

Marc is right about the other characters getting involved in the action. It had not struck me that this is a change. A welcome one as it allows more complex finales.

Good game. It’s been over for a while. Since like Round 6. When you weren’t going to be able to take Russia, it was over. I get what you were trying to do. Keep the US out for as long as possible while Japan back doored Russia. Germany should have declared war on Russia on Turn 2. And Japan should have DOW’d the Allies on Turn 2. Germany should have spent less on navy. Retreated the navy into the Balkans. And Italy should have spent less on navy. Spent more on ground troops to help Germany defend Europe. Just my two cents and humble honest opinion. Germany could have focused more on going after Russia. I’ll finish Anzacs and France’s turn just to finish out the Round. Good luck in your future games.

Found this article and thought it’s interesting?

Much of it seems right on track but some it seems doubtful.  Japanese isn’t Hawai’i’s?  Vietnamese for Texas?  Maybe it’s right, it’s just not what I would have expected.

I think the point is, all three of my opinions infer that Germany is waiting until at least round 3 to declare war on Russia.  Personally, I see no good reason to declare war on them before then anyway and, personally, I prefer to have Italy declare war on Round 3 with Germany maybe not even declaring war on Round 4…that way Italy can take the road and Germany can reinforce it.  That allows Germany to collect the NO for Russia and move towards Moscow.

I know people hate them but I like having a couple cruisers in my fleet accompanied by a good screen of subs and DDs to protect carriers. I’d rather spend 4 more IPCs and have two slightly less powerful rolls of the dice in a battle while still having the ability to soak the two hits a BB would get with one unit.

Would you like me to set up another game today? I think this one is past redeeming, sorry!

I read this about Stuka:

The dive-bomber was a purpose-built aircraft, designed to drop bombs with pinpoint accuracy on frontline battlefield targets. To support their panzer offensives, the Germans developed close air support into an art form and the Stuka was central to this effort. The secret of German successes in this field was the close integration between air and ground units. Stuka squadrons worked hand-in-hand with ground units so they could intervene rapidly at the decisive point of the battlefield. These highly specialist squadrons were in the thick of the action and developed an impressive reputation. The need to fly deep into the heart of battle meant Stuka pilots suffered some of the highest casualty rates in the Luftwaffe, and as a consequence became some of the most highly decorated German servicemen. Hans-Ulrich Rudel was the most famous Stuka pilot and squadron commander of the war. He was also the most highly decorated German soldier of the war, being the only serviceman to receive the Knight’s Cross with Golden Oak Leaves with Swords and Diamonds.

Considering that Utah is a landlocked state, I’m baffled by that one. Is this along the lines of Arthur C. Clarke’s joke about the incompetent army general who should have been put in charge of the coastal defense of Wyoming?
