Title: Hitler’s downfall (1941)
Date: 12/13/2008.
Special Rules: Tech development and No’s
Victor: Allies won. Axis conceded.
Game Length: About 10 hours, 4-5 turns.
Bias: Two most experienced players: one in the Axis as Germany and Italy, the other in the Allies as the USA. Two newbies in the Allies side and one semi experience player as Japan.
Description: Germans destroyed most of the British navy in the first round, Japan captured most of the inslands in the Pacific. Russians built a quick defense, Americans harassed the Japanese in the Pacific, SBR Germans and Italians. British concentrated on European invasion. Germans got motorized infantry and paratroopers. Germans captured Leningrad with heavy airplane loss. Italians helped to set up for the invasion of Moscow. Unexpectadly, the British captures Berlin in the turn before with 3 soldiers, 3 tanks, two fighters and 1 shore bombardment, against 2 bombers 3 soldiers, 3 tanks. Moscow falls, Italians liberate Berlin, but British recapture it, Axis concedes. Although japanese controled most of Asia, the Russian invasion did not to Moscow on time.
Observations/Recommendations: Germans rolled really bad in the defense of Germany, and was not expecting an invasion that turn, with only 3 transports in the British fleet. The Allies can win if they work well together, and the Axis is not very careful.

The Japanese also used the Betties to bomb ally shipping.

RE: Neutrals
Hey, Spain did send the Blue Legion to help hitler in the war agaisnt the Soviets. He also sent workers to help German industry, and provided port for the U-boats. Spain was not that neutral. The only thing is that they would not allow German troops to cross their territory to invade Gibraltar. If anything, Germany should provide Germany with 2 ipcs, but germany could not invade, or use Spanish troops….except for the Blue Legion.
Sorry Imperious Leader, I could not resist answering to this. -
RE: Neutrals
In A&AE, the Bosborus strait is impassable.

RE: Stop the presses: Glemax has Axis and Allies revised… finally!
When do most of you usually play? They fixed most of the early bugs. The main problem now is the occasional freezing, and the newbies that quit half way in the middle of a game. I would like to see my skills against some of you more experienced players.

Any Miami, FL players around for A&A? I have A&AP, A&AE, and A&AR. I got some players in my group, but always looking for more.

Do ally destroyers prevent the submersion of submarines?
I have question in AAR. Do submarines that belong to a nation allied to your own prevent enemy submarines from invading. Example: Germans move a submarine next to England during their non combat phase. The English place a destroyer in that sea zone in their place units phase. An American bomber goes and attack the German submarine duriong their combat phase, while the the British destroyer is present. Does that prevent the sub from submergeing if the Bomner misses the target?
thank you for your help. -
RE: Germany: All out naval first couple rounds
Or you can build a huge navy and invade Britain. I have done it twice.

RE: Industrial complexe
For the first question, you have to wait until the next turn to be able place units in the new acquired IC.
For the second, it depends where most of the German armies are located. The allies could land in Norway, since it is hard for the Germans to reenforce that area. You could move them south and hit the European underbelly through the mediterrenean. Those are my thoughts on these matter. -
RE: AAR Sub rules
I used the same rules for subs from AAE as well with my group. If not, subs are almost as useless as they were in the original game.
-
RE: An Axis Problem
Make sure you sink as much of the British fleet as possible in the first turn. Make sure you make good use of your fleet to delay the ally landings. Place your fighters in Finland and France, so you can strike any British fleet being built. This is my advice.

RE: Using Revised rules in A&A:E and A&A:P
You forgot to mention the difference in sub mechanics. By the way, we still keep the house rule of not having planes strafe subs without the presence of destroyers in our game of AAR with my group.

RE: A&A Pacific
It also includes U.S. not starting with its initial IPC’s. I tried it once. My friend was playing Japan. After the British sank two of his battleships, he gave up. However, I think i would have done better.

A&A Pacific
The other day I was reading about some altermate rules for Pacific, changing taking away the U.S. factory from Hawaii, and having Japan capture both Australia and India, but I cannot find the the topic anymore…can anyone help me?
