    • Help for my dog

My dog escaped and was hit. He is in surgery. No broken bones but some major internal work. I was curious if any of you chaps could help.

    • 82 Airborne: Target Rome

I’m reading a biography on Eisenhower.

This book suggests after the end of the Tunisia Campaign and before the invasion of Sicily that the Monarchy of Italy contacted Allied HQ about defecting from the Axis.

A plan was drawn up where the 82nd would drop into Rome and help secure the city and Italian government.

How would this have played out?

    • World War Two plastic models

Do any of you build plastic war models? I’m picking up the hobby.

I’m trying to get my paint knowledge better. I painted an Oscar (Ki-43 Japanese Army Fighter) that ended up looking like a FW-190. I was disappointed.

@Witt said in Pick your Battle of Britain fighter:

Has always been the 109E for me, probably slightly disappointing my loving RAF grandad!

The 109 is the most dangerous looking of the Battle of Britain fighters.

    • RE: Carl Weathers

      @ABWorsham4

His role as Dillon In Predator is my top role of his. He was part of the dream team hunting an Alien Trophy Hunter in the jungle. That made 13 year old me super excited.

It was a gut punch hearing that Carl Weathers passed away today.
What role comes to mind when you think of his characters?

    • RE: Mussolini Invades Ethiopia

@SuperbattleshipYamato said in Mussolini Invades Ethiopia:

An interesting thing to consider would be the political implications. Had Italy not invaded Ethiopia, it might have been less likely for them to join the Axis, since the war was a big part of breaking Anglo-Italian relations.

      Great point.

@SuperbattleshipYamato Can you imagine flying over the Channel in an Italian bi-plane?

I have started building WW2 models. It’s got me researching weapon systems.

      Me-109

      Me-110

      Defiant

      Fiat G.50 Freccia

    • Mussolini Invades Ethiopia

Did the huge cost of funds and resources used in invading Ethiopia and supporting the Nationalist in Spain by ruin any chances that Italy could be ready for any European conflict in 1940?

Let’s face it, Italy went to war with an Army and Air fleet that was equipped for a 1928-32 conflict.

      Thoughts?

Have not heard from him. A lot of these accounts go silent for long periods of time. I always wonder how these people are doing.

Glad you are checking on him.

    • New Netflix WW2 documentary

World War Two: From the Frontline

This documentary is trash. Example: Poland, Germany invades, no mention of the Red Army invading from the East.

This documentary makes the B.E.F out driving Bren gun Carriers as main battle tanks.

      This is high definition rubbish.
