    • Custom AA Table for Sale in Chicago

      Hello,

      I live in the city of Chicago and I am trying to sell my custom made table. Here is the link from the forums:

      Custom Global Table

      It’s printed on a custom board that was made by the user YoungGrasshopper that includes the naval and air bases and the economy printed ON the board itself.

      It will come with:

      • All the game pieces along with a few extra legos that I used to represent factories
      • Custom Laminated battle cards
      • All the dice and money

      Basically everything you need to play right off the bat.

      Check out the pictures from the forum post. I would like this to go to a good home where it will be enjoyed. Thanks for viewing.

    • RE: Best place to print a custom game board?

      I used smartpress.com . They were very helpful. Gave me suggestions on what would work best as a material to print on, as well as the print settings etc…

      This is cool, but we need a bigger picture!!!  :roll: haha!

      2 tables is an epic set-up my friend. Will both the tables be identical? can’t have people getting jealous!

      Exactly YG.

      I ended up with extra space on both sides that I just used for creating dice trays. I think planning it out in regard to where you want to put what country’s trays is probably one of the most important steps. Once you have that, you can start swinging the hammer!

      Thanks Speed_Adict!

      They are completely stackable, which I will completely admit, was an accident that ended up working out in my favor! I purchased the containers before building the actual table and used the containers as a guide for my measurements. I tried to get the boxes as geographically close to their corresponding countries as possible… but anyway… here you go!

      USS Nevada,

      I work in Concord and I play global as well. I have a table that I built but I don’t have it here yet. I just moved here.

    • RE: Sitting or Moving?

      I agree completely with your point about the global version. There is just no possible way to keep people from moving around. A great example is the U.S. , they are set on opposite sides of the board, you could not feasibly consolidate it. I did however, set up the UK just like you did by sticking them right in the middle. I honestly didn’t give any thought as to whether or not I was factoring foot traffic in, I’m glad you didn’t post this before I built my table because then it might have ended up different haha.

      Like you, I’m curious to see what people say about the sit down tables. I’m also kind of interested to see to what extent people factored in the movement during their build…

    • RE: 32 sq ft AA50th Table

      @CWO:

      @aaronimpulse:

      I like how your wife hates the board being set up in your basement, but she seems to be ok with you making a contraption on the ceiling that looks like a medieval draw bridge to attract even more attention haha!

      And besides, she’d probably take an even dimmer view of the alternative solution, which would be to install a pulley system that would raise your wife’s chair up to the ceiling (with her in it) to make room on gaming nights when you need to set up your A&A map board.

      HAHA!!! great point Marc!

    • RE: POLL: Best rounds to start the global war?

      @Spendo02:

      I’d say G1:J1 on the basis that every round you delay is another round the Allies are building units and not losing them.

      I agree with this 100% - especially on the pacific half of the board. While it is true that they don’t produce as many units when not at war, the smart US player will put a majority of his units on that side of the board anyway so my philosophy is to start chipping away ASAP. I guess in my mind it comes down to how long you want the game the last and if you feel like fighting a war with more boats…maybe some people are into that.

      The trays/drawers are awesome. I like how their is a compartment for each type of unit, very cool. I can’t get over the fact that you can lower this from the ceiling! That’s so freakin’ insane! Kudos for the imagination!

      Great looking table. I like the idea of having enough room to move around the countries based on the game you are playing. Two thumbs up!
