      Can the fighters land on malta if they live?? If So, carrier, carrier, cruiser, fighter, fighter

      If the fighters can’t land on Malta then cruiser, fighter, fighter, carrier, carrier… ( I think it has to be that way since the fighters have to land on the carrier if they live?? not sure)

      Let me know which one it is and do that one. Thanks

      Hey Gargantua I found a discrepency in the dice rolls… I dont know if it will matter much in the long scheme of things but I thought I would point it out. I have 2 sets of dice from marti for the defense of Algeria. The first set shows that the Americans had 3/4 hits.

      I think the real problem with the floating bridge is that it doesn’t really contain Japan.

      Well that is true because the Pacific war is at first a naval war. Europe is not like that and Navy does not play a big role besides protecting TRS to shuck troops onto the mainland.

      Over in the Pacific you have to get rid of the IJN first and foremost. The land units are just there to take advantage of openings to take Islands and move closer to the main land. Considering how most players play Japan by never reinforcing any of the islands with any size of force. The USA can have 3TRS with 6 guys and do some serious IPC harm on Japan and their islands. It does not require a huge TRS fleet in the Pacific until late game.

      Now lets look at the 18 TRS shuck to the Philippines. So you are sending 12 troops a turn to Manila. So, you wait one turn, now you have 12 TRS sitting in Manila with 24 Units, and you can threaten the entire mainland of China, from Singapore to Tokyo. Since you broke the shuck you then have 2 turns later another 12 units come from Hawaii to reinforce.

      IMO the fastest way to neutralize Japan is to kill their IPC economy and that is found in the South Pacific and the coast of China. I understand the idea of going north but I do not think that is the best way to take down Japan. Taking Korea and all that stuff is end game moves for the USA to finally knock out Japan on their main island.

      My question for you is at what turn do you think you will have enough of a US Navy to be able to build 18 transports and the support ships to protect the trns and to wipe out the Japan Navy?

      Look at the two stickied threads that talk about Germany and Japan’s first moves…  That will give you a general idea of what people have done in the past. It has helped me a lot. Now trying to find allied plans is a lot tougher since it is totally dependent on what the Axis does… You have to do some searching but I have found a few.

      Hey - Just looking at your last Russian move; I think you are being too timid!

      Calculate out what would have happend if you threw your whole stack into Belarus.

      I dont think I could have beat you, and both my stacks would have had to retreat and been seperated, my forces would have needed extra turns to recover!  But now I can capitalize on the fact that Russian units are keeping the capital locked down.  Sure you will have a big defense at the end;  but if you can keep the fight at the front your defense will be even bigger.

      Just something to consider.

      Yeah I think you are right I should have done that.  I just didn’t feel, at the time, that I could hold and wouldn’t have anything behind them to back them up.  I was also thinking that you might not attack and just sit it out.

      Figuring out what to do earlier in this game was easier… Right now these later turns are really had to figure out what to do… SO many options.

      Any other suggestions – before I do them? Haha…

      I’ve been playing A&A and it doesn’t look like the Axis have any chance of winning at all! And you are advocating that the allies get a bid? Of 20-30 extra IPC?

      I’m honestly not trolling, but is there some ‘Automatic Path to victory’ for the Axis that I’m not aware of? What is it exactly? What should each Axis country be doing that stops them from being smashed by the Allies?

      I am currently playing a game with a bid of 43 for the allies and getting my butt handed to me… Of course this is just my first game of Global but it gives you a little bit of an idea for new players how it is like.
