I started out with AAP,I liked it,it was a bit hard at first, but,if your not very good with aircraft and fleets, then go for AAE,In Pacific, you mainly concentrate on air power and navy.

    • RE: Cruisers classes (USN & IJN)

      @Krieghund:

They are the same in both games.  They probably looked different to you because your friend has the reverse-colored cruisers in his Guadalcanal game.

I’m pretty sure there the right ones,he got the right ones last month when he found out that they were the wrong ones.

    • RE: Cruisers classes (USN & IJN)

I played the AAA yesterday and I got a good look at the AAG Cruisers and the AAA Cruisers.I’ve been studying US cruisers from WW2 for the past few weeks and I think the ones in AAG are the Portland Class, but the ones in the AAA are of the Wichita Class,I’m probably wrong, but they were different cruisers that I saw yesterday for the Americans.Any my friend has the Portland Class cruisers in AAG for the Americans.

    • RE: Just Played AAA

I played it today,it was me and 5 friends.we,the Axis,we lost!!!How did we?I’ll never know,I was Japan,I held most of the Pacific islands and most of china,Germany took Moscow so many times, and Russia just took in back so many times,by the end,Germany only had 12 tanks on Berlin and that was their army,Italy was holding so many Russian and German Teritories that they were to spread out to the stop the amassed British fleet and army and the US Atlantic fleet.I lost to the US Pacific Fleet after about 12 turns,I held out as long as possible, and the game lasted 6 hours!!!It’s pretty cool though,I’m playing it again soon and I’m buying it next time I get my pay check.I like it when Japan has a carriers,9 cruisers and 7 subs,it can really hurt the US Fleet when you attack.

    • RE: Airfield Locations

I like the locations in the game.I took all but Bouriville(SP?)And all the airfields helped me win with mostly bombers.Of course,4 battleships,3 carriers, and 6 cruisers helped a lot also.

    • RE: Pearl Harbor

Never take Hawaii,it’s really a bad idea and having carriers withing 3 spaces of it is REALLY BAD!!!Trust me,I lost 3 carriers and all their fighters,1 battleship,3 destroyers and like 4 transports full of troops to US bombers and fighters in like the 3rd turn.

    • RE: US Fighters

I like the Hellcats for my carriers only, because in WW2 P38’s could not fly off carriers.I wish though that all the US Fighters were hellcats, that’s what I like about AA Guadalcanal.

    • RE: How bad is this strategy?

I’ve been playing pacific for about 3 years,a my first stratagies were too take India for the Japs to win and and to take Hawaii for a good offensive base for my attacks on the Dutch East Indies and Austrailia. It was a great stratagy till my friends and I figured out SBR’s and after that you Bombed pearl then ran away from there as soon as possible.

    • RE: Naval bases

I really like naval bases, :-DI like to built about 6-12 subs on the west Coast on my first few turns and it’s really nice when I advance my carrier task force from Hawaii to the Marshalls, I like sending some of my subs to Midway to keep the Japs from going around my force and taking Pearl. :-DAnd the Naval base really helps there.

    • RE: Favorite WWII Ship

The New Orleans Class heavy Cruisers,
      Atlanta Class Light Cruisers,
South Dakota and Iowa Class Battleships,
      Fletcher Class Destroyers,
Yorktown and Essex Class fleet Carriers.

Those are just some of my favorite ships.

    • RE: Favorite WW2 Fighter Plane

my favorites were the P47 Thunderbolt because they survived even the worst damage.
And the F6F Hellcat, because they were fast enough to take on the Zero’s and the other fast Jap fighters.
