Hand over the heart is the civilian version of a salute to be rendered to the flag while the National Anthem is being played. IF wearing a hat remove it and place the hat over the heart.

    • RE: Which side has an advantage?

UK round one. Infantry from Trans-Jordan, 2 Infantry from India via transport, fighter from Indian Ocean Carrier, and bomber from England. Versus 1 Infantry 2 Tanks the out come is 92.8% for the attacker. Give Germany an extra infantry and it is still 71.1% in UK’s favor. Leaving the Suez open and going after Gibraltar round 1 with Germany is not a good move.

None of that stopping the UK from retaking Egypt on round one, which is what a lot of bids are based on.

      80%

7% off for not being in debt
      5% off for voting

Makes me glad I ain’t 100% in their book.

    • RE: Presidential Election (as a current event- watch the tone or it's gone)

It doesn’t look like Michigan or Florida will simply be allowed to seat their delegates but will have “do over” primaries. If that is the case Obama may win Michigan but I would be surprised if he wins Florida which has a very large  number of delegates. The mainstream press seems to be keeping somewhat quite about the Pastor flap but I suspect that will change.

With the recent developing flap with his Church Clinton may not have to steal it from Obama. I will be surprised if he doesn’t implode before the convention much less the General election.

Thumbs up to Cobert re the Political labels. I rarely talk about my political view online anymore due to labeling. I don’t like either party or sides stances 100% and it just seems to devolve into being labeled something I am not.

    • RE: LHTR: Larry Harris Tournament Rules

I have already read that switch, which states that existing fighters can end their move on the seazone where a new carrier will be placed. I could find no reference to where existing fighters in the same territory as the IC can be placed on newly built carriers.

Could some one point out to me where in LHTR 2.0 it states that existing fighters at an IC territory can be placed on a new carrier?

    • RE: Help with ABattlemap

The “cash” is kept by putting flag markers in Saudi Arabia. This has to be manually adjusted each turn, just like the money in a FTF game. At least the Infoview box tracks the IPC counts for each nation and IPC values of land and naval units. Maybe its just me but the IPC count board seems to be of great annoyance in FTF games. Think less of Battlemap as a program such as TripleA and more of a virtual gameboard and it should seem a bit more natural.

Clinton has won Texas and Ohio. I think this one will go down to the convention and I also have a feeling that Clinton will garner more superdelegates than Obama. You don’t spend 35 years in politics and not learn how to conduct backroom deals.

As you play more you will learn that transports love to take out fighters for some reason. Park a battleship next to a few and watch it roll fives and sixes while the transports rack up the ones.

    • RE: Marines vs Soldiers

The religious structures switch was referring to was the old WWII era barracks at Harmony Church. Very sporty accommodations; no AC, most of the tiles gone off the floors, and Oil Boilers that were subject to explode (not to good in a fat-lightered pine building). The only ones of which are left are the Admin buildings. I doubt you are familiar with that part of post as everything out that way was demolished in 89.

I think the BK was at main post in '87 when I did Infantry School at Harmony Church. I couldn’t swear to that as my barracks was next to the old RIP school which was practically the end of the earth. I know it was there in '88-90 when I was stationed at Kelly Hill (1/18INF 197th)
I also worked at Benning in 97-98 new barracks at Kelly Hill and 99 Ranger Barracks and HQ. Which are like 5 star luxury hotels compared to what was there in my day. Last time I was there was last year with my girlfriend while she was pet sitting. Heck right now I am just on the other side of Phenix City.

    • RE: Adolf Hitler's 'lost fleet' found in Black Sea

There is a correctly built model built by Bavaria Film Studios for Das Boot that was at one time and probably still open for tours. That model is for a Type VIIC. I am not sure if it was used for U-571 if it was that would be that movies ONLY redeeming quality.

'89-90 other than stereo equipment everything was cheaper off post. The justification was that since Benning was an open post and anyone could buy the stuff AAFES had to charge what off-post stores charged. Which is a laugh since you had to show ID if not in uniform to buy anything. AAFES was not very highly regarded back then. Overseas they used to fuss because everybody tended to eat at Burger King and not the AAFES snack bar. The quality was miles apart.

And it seems like the Navy has now jumped on the digital bandwagon with a subdued version of the MARPAT. Considering how tradition bound the Navy is I doubt this is going to be popular with the Chiefs.

Because its cheaper off post in some places Jen, Ft. Benning used to be that way and probably still is.

Medals have definitely changed since I was in. Back then it was pretty rare to see 3 rows or more on less than a very senior NCO. Although I do think it would be nice if they came up with a combat and non-combat version of the Achievement and Commendation medals. I also have no problem with them being sold. Out of my 4 medals all I received was the “Fire Gard” (Army Service Ribbon) I wound up having to buy the ribbons for the rest, one of which I didn’t even know I had until I was discharged since it was on my 214.

    • RE: Russia's fight against Japan

So mojo on J2 ALL of Japan’s land units are now sitting in Manchuria. That is not exactly a bad thing for Russia. As a matter of fact it has just bought Russia some time to focus completely on Germany. In your example it will be J5 before a Japanese Infantry sets foot in Novosibirsk. That is plenty of time to allow the Allies time to start relieving Russia on the German front.

Apparently the Air Force has went with a “tiger stripe” patter that has Air Force blue in it. I guess they figured the pattern would blend in with the light coming in the office window from the venetian blinds.  :-D
