After playing Alpha 3.9 numerous times on the forum and off against many players, I draw the conclusion that Alpha 3.9 favors the Axis decisively for one reasons:

The Allies cannot effectively stop a USSR crush.

The USSR is too under powered to stop it, and the other allies cannot get in there fast enough to stop it without losing to Japan.  The allies either have to KJF and hope they can rerout once that’s done to hold on to Cairo or to just hope Japan stumbles, giving them enough time to counter Germany.  Either way is a crap shoot and futile if Germany and Japan really hammer the USSR.

Ummm… No if you play youre cards right allies have the advantage.

Here is what I recommend. g3 uk. j3 calcutta. uk as a whole should be gone.

Don’t fret usa makes lots of money and can liberate uk. but you got to buy lots of mech with russia if he goes sea lion so you can get +6 for each german spot you take. +6 MAD INCOME.

russia can get romania and some of the german stuff for MAD income.

very rarely did i see germany go for russia, they tended to lose going that way, because usa power slams japan with his income. while uk does italy stuff early on. like build stuff in union / deal with italy. once you get drops going it is funny.

just usa money was nuts was like 80+ at war. pacific was no problem, because you always made $20 more. and anzac made a decent amount 15 i think.

first objective is caroline then dutch islands or queensland to dutch or park in japan for convoy disruption.

Hello guys, Been a while since ive posted here! I have a little request.  In the upcoming weeks Im gonna have 4 friends over and its going to be us 5 vs. My father.  Now hes an elite player by my own standerds and was wondering if you could give any advice.  I belive will be wplaying as the allies.

1. sake of my friends who are not all familiar with the latest rules and we don�t play very often.
2. sake of me, because since the rules are not officially set i won�t change anything knowing that alpha 2+ etc. are really well made and did change the game a lot…
