THE IDEA:
So I came out with an ideia, what if there were oil refineries …
These refineries would give an extra 3 IPC income because of trade and also reduce the convoy disruption, I mean, if an enemy nation has a sea unit in one of you convoys and you have 1 oil refinery anywhere in the map nothing happends, only if there are more than one sea units.
For example Germany has 3 sea units in a UK convoy and UK has a oil factory somewhere in the map,insteady of losing 3 IPC, UK only loses 2 IPC.
Cost:10/11
Oil refineries defend against bombers like normal factories and if a nation wants to destroy a oil factory they can conduct a bombing raid but insteady of attacking the normal factory it attacks the oil factory ( the attacker decides which one he wants to attack).
MODELS:
Since I’m already busy with the new sculpts for air transports and the paratroopers I’m going to do the same little symbols for oil factories has the navy, air and factory.
It will be something like this:

Here it is, the “prototype” xD :

Obviusly the colors are wrong but what do you think of the symbol ?
Looks good to me. I take it they will be about the same size as the current counters we have for ICs, AA guns, Air bases and Naval bases?
You mentioned colors were wrong. What’s wrong with them? Did you want a white symbol on grey background?
Also, you started calling these “oil factories” but wasn’t sure what they should be called. Try “refineries”.Thanks, yes they will be the same size, the colours will be just like the ones of the air bases, naval bases and IC’s, white with grey background.
Ok refeneries sound better to me

I’m still going to do some changes, the color is not 100% correct and there are some white spots…

RE: Empires: Global War based on early start of Great War circa 1898?posted in Other Axis & Allies Variants
@Imperious:
Wait: slow down just establish the land and air units, then the values
then naval, so on.
Need somebody to research the economic potency of these nations around 1900 or at worst 1914 ( use GDP)
Then we need research on who had what and where
etc… Research first, then design
We need to know if he is able to make those sculpts and if he as the time

RE: Using ANZAC units to Canadaposted in Other Axis & Allies Variants
In the 1939 variant, I combined ANZAC and CANADA into a new power THE COMMONWEALTH. The income was split between the two sides of the map (Ottawa / Sydney). The twist was that this power shares the SAME TURN as the UK. So they can work in concert with the UK and Calcutta forces.
Yeah I already know that, but it would be better if they were separated nations, at least i my opinion

@coachofmany:
Have you seen mine for sale?
Yes and I really like them, in fact I’m thinking of something to do with them put I’m going to make ones to look more like the navy and air bases
I will be putting the HBG pieces to use in my new game…
http://www.axisandallies.org/forums/index.php?topic=23321.0OK, but I want some to look like the air bases, naval bases and factories, but I might use those to another thing

So I came out with an ideia, what if there were oil wells …
These wells would give an extra 3 IPC income because of trade and also reduce the convoy disruption, I mean, if an enemy nation has a sea unit in one of you convoys and you have 1 oil well nothing happends, only if there are more than one sea units.

Using ANZAC units to Canadaposted in Other Axis & Allies Variants
What do you think of using ANZAC units to represent Canada, it would work like UK London and UK Calcutta.
I’m going to print these Canadian roundels:

What do you think ?

RE: Russia giving up and putting everything in the Major Citiesposted in Axis & Allies Europe 1940
It seems like a viable plan if the need would arise. The only big problem with this plan is the fact that you will loose your income very fast making it extremely hard to protect your cities. What I tend to do is protect the german boarder, than pull my forces back evenly with one force towards Leningrad, the other Stalingrad. I do this till i am backed up to both cities. The reason I don’t fall back to moscow is the fact that its IC is a 10 which allows a large defensive force to be built faster, and the fact that it is much farther away from germany than the other two.
It sounds a really good plan, I’m going to try it next time

RE: How un-balanced it really is?posted in Axis & Allies Global 1940
Japan can’t keep up with a US enemy that is dumping 70+ IPC into the Pacific every turn. Between turns 6 and 8 the assertion is that Japan is neutralized for the rest of the game and the allies can turn the focus to Germany.
OK thanks a lot

@Zallomallo:
#1. It’s worth it
#2. Some people say that if the US just dumps into the pacific, they have an overly formidable strategy.Thanks but, it’s just that? I thought it was something about Japan.

RE: Empires: Global War based on early start of Great War circa 1898?posted in Other Axis & Allies Variants
@De:
Alright so I was reading the article in the WW2 History section of the forums, the one about the U.S not being a superpower or not before WW2. Imperious leader gave the suggestion of an Axis and Allies ruled game set in like 1900. This really stuck to me, and I have been toying with the idea since. I think having a game set roughly in 1898 with all the major Colonial and World powers to play as would be sick. Relive the Spanish American War or have WW1 start in a different way than history. Form your own alliances that make a different game every time. What do you guys think of a game of this type? And what are your ideas for it then?
That would be awesome but it would need new sculpts for units…
