Heading up from Tennessee, myself. Probably carpooling with another from the Nashville area. Meeting a few others (not certain of how many) of our Meet Up group for G42, etc.
This will be my second Gen Con, others I’m with have been a few times. Previously I was third wheel on team that reached semi-finals. Not because of my skills, by the way.
Hopefully I’ll see you there!

RE: Combat movement phaseposted in Axis & Allies Global 1940
Pretty certain that you must declare all battles before rolling any dice. Otherwise, one could see outcomes, and then pursue other attacks. The only movement after dice rolls is “non-combat”.

I’m thinking attacking transports accompanied by surface warships can ignore defending submarines.

We had a great weekend, played AA50 and Global 42. Smaller turnout than last Feb, but was fun none the less. If you live anywhere near Nashville or Knoxville TN, you need to make our next event. The weekend AFTER the Super Bowl, in Feb 15. I will post information here when the date get closer.

RE: Different 'generations' of chipsposted in Player Help
Thanks for the replies. The chips in question have ‘fine’ ridges, like the normal chips, not the ‘coarse’ ridges as found in 1914 and 1942.2. I was originally reluctant to put them in the mix with my other chips that I know fit together, but I suppose if I’m not building skyscraper stacks, it’ll be fine.
Thanks again for all of the help.

Different 'generations' of chipsposted in Player Help
I received a “lot” of various AA pieces I purchased on eBay that included gray and red chips that don’t ‘stack’ together correctly with some other chips that I have. I do know about the 1914 chips being different, but does anyone know if any other variations within the chips used in AA games?
Thanks!

Axis and Allies Battle at the Lakesideposted in Events
Hey, Everyone!
The Nashville Axis and Allies Meetup Group is planning our next event. So far, the only firm information we have is the dates 10-12 OCT, and the venue Lakeside Resort and Educational Complex 358 Relax Drive, Smithville TN.
We did this last February, and it was a BLAST! Two and a half days of AA, with lots of food and canned beverages…… Do yourself a favor, and get out and play your favorite AA game at an awesome resort.

I’m not the group leader, but I am happy to answer any questions regarding this event.

I’m going, and was at the Battle of Tennessee. Hoping to play, but haven’t entered any tournaments. I’m so out of touch with the game, I’d really like to just watch. I know that sounds lame, but if I entered, I would hardly be much competition. Maybe a pick up game somewhere. :|

Are you looking at the FMG site (NOT HBG)?
They say in stock for me.
Yeah, I’m stupid…… :-D :-D
All it takes it to go the the right site.
Thanks for catching that. Complete set ordered.
