      Board one turn, unload the next. Even if the transport doesn’t move.

      @Arthur:

      Oops, I meant 6 art + 2 inf for a total of 30 PUs.  That gives an effective attack benefit of 20 when you are trying to push back a determined Russian defender.  If I want to play a more balanced game with additional threats into the oceans and a possibility of Sea Lion, I will do a sub + 2 bomber build on G1.  That reduces the attack to a mere 8, but likely saves a plane or two during G2.  Furthermore the bombers reduce the number of UK fighters that will be stacked against you so it is almost as effective as 6 art + 2 inf.

      How do the bombers reduce the number of UK fighters?

      I’d guess through strat bombing of UKE.

    • Nashville, TN Axis and Allies, March 23-24

      Coming up next weekend. Always a great time, with lots of gaming, not limited to Axis and Allies. Lately have had Scythe and Supremecy on the table, and there’s talk of giving Twilight Imperium 4 a go.

      Axis and Allies titles typically played include: Global, 1914, and 42.2. Most other titles are in someone’s car, so that isn’t necessarily everything we’ll play.

      Gaming takes place in a neighborhood clubhouse that has lots of comfortable seating, a full kitchen, and huge bathroom facilities. It’s close to many different restaurants, and delivery routes of the local pizza joints.

      We’ll start Friday morning, and play all day, so come prepared to play long games, and be ready for lots of fun! After hours gaming normally includes a few rounds of Secret Hitler, which is hilarious. Seriously. We’ll knock off late, and do it all again all day Saturday.

      Looking forward to seeing lots of new faces, so if you’re in the Nashville, TN area, swing by and have a look!

      Hey everyone,

      Looking to buy OOB colors of HBG Japanese paratroopers, Ki-57 Transport planes, G8N Rita Heavy Bombers, and Italian Hummel SPG for some house rules my group is making.  Need multiples of each…hopefully at least 10 of each, but any number will do for starters.

      Thanks for reading this.

    • RE: Seazone question

      I believe Kamikaze can only be launched against “attacking” ships, and as a non-combat movement is not an attack, I think the carriers are safe from such attack.

      @CWO:

      Dilbert is sitting at his desk and an attractive female guest character arrives, laptop computer in hand, and says that she’s a new hire, and says that she doesn’t yet have her own cubicle, and asks if she can share his cubicle for a few days.  Dilbert says, “Uh, sure.”  She then says that she doesn’t have her own desk yet, and says that there’s no spare desk in Dilbert’s cubicle, and she asks if she can sit on his lap.  Dilbert says, “Uh, sure.”  In the final frame, Dilbert is sitting is his chair and the woman is sitting on his lap, typing on her laptop computer; Dilbert is thinking to himself, “I don’t imagine how this could possibly get any better.”  The punchline is that, as she types, the woman asks Dilbert, “Which Star Trek series do you like best?”

      Seen that one; hilarious!

    • RE: Battleship Bombardment

      I think you’re combining/confusing “Bombardment” with a Sea Battle.  During an amphibious assault, the battleship would get one shot at the enemy forces on shore, after which, the invading land and air forces are on their own.

      As far as a sea battle, the battleship would get to fire in each round of combat, as long as it survives, of course.

      Edit:  Additionally, if there is a sea battle that precedes the amphibious assault, the battleship (nor any other battleship or cruiser) does not get a “shore shot”.

    • RE: Air Base build

      Yes, you may have liberated Gib from Italy? Germany? but the roundel printed on the map makes it an original UK territory. Therefore only UK can build an airbase, unless UK is in Axis hands.

      Yes, you are limited on an air raid response, too.  Up to three fighters or tactical bombers can respond.  But only the enemy bombers or tacs can “attack”  the fighters are only escorts, to fight any interceptors you send up.

      Gib is an original UK territory.  Is London in Axis hands, in your example?

      @Ichabod:

      Siparo,

      In the 2 table top games we played…obviously my demonstrations made me out to not be the “strong German player.” I hope that in a future game I could provide a better demonstration and maybe earn some Axis and Allies “skill” respect for whatever country I end up playing. I’m still disappointed about my Noob move of exposing my stack to a nice Russian counter attack at Bryansk when I could have stacked at Smolensk and most likely captured Moscow the following turn. I think the G42 rules about collecting the most IPCs at the end of turn 7 influenced my decision thinking too much.

      Good job hosting that Nashville event…fun playing the guessing game too!
