A capitol fall is very hard to come back from because of that. The toppled country misses a turn of buying units (no $$$) while at the same time giving the other side the chance to purchase with their normal collection plus the plundered treasure.
Just picked up the 1998 Axis and Allies from Microprose today.
Installed it, everything runs fine, until the combat phase starts, when the program crashes.
Running Windows XP, have 512 MB of RAM.
Is this a common problem, and is there a quck fix?
If this is the old CD game, what may help is disconnecting from the internet. That happened to me (loading up for one player) but when I disconnected the ethernet cable, it worked fine. By the way, if the thing does start working, SAVE FREQUENTLY!
