After further consideration I no longer feel the fighter escort/interceptor rule needs any fine tuning. In my previous posts I expressed the view that the rule nerfed strategic bombing too much but I’ve since changed my mind. After all, bombing raids over inland German targets without escorts was near suicidal, especially during the daylight. It wasn’t until the Allies had deployed long range escort fighters and had outnumbered the defending Luftwaffe aircraft, that the Allies were able to conduct bombing missions without terrible loses. The same is true with the fighter escort/interceptor rule as it stands now and it should stay that way.
In-Game question- pls help: Hostile sea zone retreat rules
-
Can the ships in the hostile zone retreat into different sea zones each?? ie one ship to zone A another into zone B
Or do they move as fleet?? -
Page 19 of the manual:
Under Attacker Retreats:
Attacker can retreat… Move all attacking land and sea units in that combat to a single adjacent friendly space from which at least one of the attacking units moved. In the case of sea units, that space must have been friendly at the start of the turn. All such units must retreat together to the same territory, regardless of where they came from. -
thats what we ended up after lots of arguing. Sad that we didnt notice that para.
Thank you
