China and what should be done with it

Sending a UK AA gun to China is a good move if Jap strikes first (J1 or J2 attack), but I wouldn’t do it if Jap didn’t start war. If Japan doesn’t provoke war sending a UK AA gun to China (rd #2) will require a Dec of War by the UK on Japan, allowing Japan to fight only UK/Anz w/o bringing the US in (also won’t trigger US $40 bonus early). As UK or Anz you really don’t want to make the first move if Japan hasn’t attacked yet. Sit back and collect the extra income (NO’s/Dutch) and build your forces. I would move the UK AA gun up to Burma UK1, then if Japan strikes first (attacks UK, Anz, Dutch or US) try to get it to China.

I assume airbases and naval bases stay.
It only says china destroyes any industrial complexes it captures.

Gharen, I’m not necessarily an advocate for changing the rules for China, or of allowing the Chinese out of China in AA40. Hell they get to go into 20 tt. I would have liked to see a Chinese AA gun just to show the p40 ftr wasn’t just a paper tiger and the Japs took heavy air losses. I did think that China was much to weak in AA50, especially 41. I also think that China’s roll will be much different in the 40 global game. The UK/Russian powers will play a much bigger role in the Chinese arena (its kinda like an arena-they can’t leave-he he couldn’t resist  :-D). Anyway I for one will hold judgment until I’ve actually had a chance to play the global game. I don’t foresee any real problems here. I also like the fact that China is a very minor mostly def ally that is going to need a lot of help to stay in the game.

edit: I would like to see some Russian restrictions when it comes to its allies in Russian tt, and vice-versa. The Russians didn’t play nice w/allies. Any Russians going into China should maybe represent communist (MIO), and became red Chinese. They would at the point of entry have the same restrictions as the Chinese, and could not return to Russian soil. This would make Russia think twice about placing units in china. I don’t think any of this will be part of the game, but makes for an interesting scenario.

Again, both kamikaze attacks and scrambling are defensive reactions.  If there’s no attack, there’s no defense.  Combat moves done only to avoid combat do not trigger kamikaze attacks or scrambling.

A good definition of “attack” would be “combat movement into a hostile space or declaration of intent for combat in any space”.

With Kamikazes having the added requirement of : “If the allied player has moved ships into one of the above sea zones, …” ?

Which to me implies during this combat movement. Seems pointless to have this line otherwise, since you obviously couldn’t attack a ship that has never moved there.

Its the UK I feel bad for, by turn 3 or 4 they are down to 2-4 IPCs a turn, esp with Jap subs next to India.

Oh I thought you were talking about another kind of Chinese box :-D
