you can take them and increase your ipc total but you cant take their ipcs on hand because of no capital

I like the way China is, I think it well represents the state of Chinese forces and idustry at that time. Mind you, by the time this game begins, all of Chinas more developed and industrilzed areas are under Japanese occupation.

What I could see someone doing is making a house rule where if China takes its costal areas back, or recaptures Kiangsu, its allowed to place a minor industry there for free (which it could upgrade to a major) and can function as a regular nation, purchasing and moving normaly. I know it sounds extream, but If China gets to that point, the game is pretty much over for Japan anyway

Thanks gents.  One more question if I could…if a kamikaze attack (or a number of them are made on a carrier with aircraft, if the carrier is sunk are the aircraft lost?

Not necessarily. Kamis can only be used on the allies’ turn, so the planes have their remaining movement to land

Again, both kamikaze attacks and scrambling are defensive reactions.  If there’s no attack, there’s no defense.  Combat moves done only to avoid combat do not trigger kamikaze attacks or scrambling.

A good definition of “attack” would be “combat movement into a hostile space or declaration of intent for combat in any space”.

With Kamikazes having the added requirement of : “If the allied player has moved ships into one of the above sea zones, …” ?

Which to me implies during this combat movement. Seems pointless to have this line otherwise, since you obviously couldn’t attack a ship that has never moved there.

Its the UK I feel bad for, by turn 3 or 4 they are down to 2-4 IPCs a turn, esp with Jap subs next to India.
