Will the Atlantic and Pacific in AA40 Global be balanced

Anyone here annoyed with the typos and other errors found in A&A Pacific 1940 1st Edition on the setup boxes and in the manual? I have a version from 2009 that is one of the first copies that has these errors, warts and all, that I bought from Gateway Games in Erie, PA for Christmas in 2009, exactly 10 years ago. I dislike this version and I would like to please get an updated version of 1st Ed. with all the corrections. Thank you. Where do I find the corrected edition of A&A Pacific 1940? I heard about it 9 years ago, but can’t find it. Anyone know of any copies?

Two things I noticed:

It at least looks like the canadian markers have been changed to UK (but not in the europe game pics?)

In alpha 3 there’s a fighter in Korea that isn’t here now.

The missing fighter might be a set-up error

While it’s true that you will occassionally be heard, it will certainly not be an interactive process.  Unless, of course, someone from here decides to take it upon themselves to transpose discussions back and forth between the two sites.  My point is that anything posted here may or may not actually make it back to Larry, whereas if it’s posted there he’ll definitely see it and comment on it.

I’m really not sure what all this resistance is about.  If anyone really wants to participate in this process (or even just watch), what’s the big deal about going over to Larry’s site and paying attention to one thread?

My thinking is as a separate game this setup is flawed, but I’m betting anything that the Global game (the one we are all going to play from here on out for the most part) is pretty balanced with the addition of all those Russian infantry to the North of Manchuria. Something tells me that India crush strategy will take a beating.

Use the old Red Japanese A&AP Infantry for that - or potentially the old Yellow Japanese Infantry from A&A 2nd Edition.

I stopped watching Spielberg projects after AI.

I did hold my nose and watch BoB after several friends assured me it wasn’t some leftist revisionist effort. I watched the interviews with some of the soldiers involved and when they only panned some of the inaccurate historic aspects I decided to watch it. I was going to do the same here until I read a recent Hanks’ interview where “he wanted to emphasise(sic) the way the Japanese had been treated by American soldiers” and “also wanted to have people say, ‘We didn’t know our troops did that to Japanese people’.” He then implied that same racial hatred of WWII soldiers was present in Iraq and Afghanistan today…

Yup. I’m done with this. Needless to say I decided to read Sledge’s book instead. Rather get the straight story from someone who was there instead of a revisionist retelling as seen through PC colored digital camera lenses.
