NEW AXIS & ALLIES HAMACHI SERVER!!!

Hello all,
at first sorry for my english, because I am from Czech republic. I have problem with my Axis and Allies game. I have played about 65 rounds now and in this time game typing error message something as “LOG file is full” and is impossible to continue with playing game. If I choose Load Game and click on saved game, the game starts as New game (on start). Folder with save games (Autosave and my 1 save) has about 50 MB. Thanky you for help !! thank you very much.

5)  Move all land units from Russia and all but 1 land unit from Caucasus to Karelia (Non-Combat Move phase)

7)  Move 2 Infantry from Evenki National Okrug to Yakut SSR (Non-Combat Move Phase)
8)  Place 8 Infantry in Karelia

end result:

19 Infantry, 3 Armor, 2 Fighters in Karelia
1 Infantry in Caucasus
7 Infantry, 1 Armor in Yakut SSR
(Probably) 1 Submarine in Spainish Sea Zone

24 IPCs on round 2.

Next round either take E. Europe or retake Caucasus (lightly) and start staging British and Americans in finland/norway and move them into Karelia.

Germany should cease to exist in 3 rounds.

I assume you did not play with bids, so I would slightly alter the combat moves. By some they are regarded as weak moves, but hey everybody got their own oppinion.

My usual R1 movements (no bid, no rr)

Attack sub sz, with 1 sub.

Attack baltic fleet with 1 fig and 1 tran

Strafe Ukr with everything available from Kar, Cau and Mos (8inf and 3 arms if I am not mistaken). Most optimal result is that you leave Ukr with 1 fig or 1 fig and an arm. (retreat to Kar with your remaining forces)

Attack Man (I believe you can hit it with 5 inf, 1 arm and 1 fig)

NCM 1 inf to cau from russia, rest to Kar.

NCM 2 Infantry from Evenki National Okrug to Yakut SSR
8.) NCM Land you fig (baltic battle) in Kar

NCM Land your fig (Man battle) in yakult

Place 8 inf in Kar

Collect 27 IPC’s

Optimal result:
Kar: 14-16 inf, 3 arms  and 1 fig
Cau: 1 inf
Man: 1-3 inf and 1 arm
Yak: 2 inf and 1 fig
SpZs: 1 sub
Baltic: 1 tran

This is if everything went according plan with dice in your favor. I think a lot of people here will agree with me that this will give Russia the most potential and will set back the Axis the most. But again playing with no bid is really flawed, but you should discover that yourself first before you understand why bids are necessary and where to place your bid.

Dude there is more than one axis and allies game. I like the original. (haven’t played any of the others)

Very good response. I’d like to add that if you are talking about 1 TR (unsupported) vs. 1 TR (also unsupported), the defender will always win since the attacker has 0 attack value. I.E. essentially you can’t do it.

Unless you play with an always active AA gun, flyovers on AA guns on the Non Combat Move cannot be fired upon by the AA gun.

In any attack of the nature you described, the AA gun must roll one die for each attacking plane (that is, FTRs & BMRs) at the same time–attacker chooses losses. This concept is reflected throughout the game in various different instances. For instance, your dice in Combat are rolled by “column” on the BattleBoard. After you roll for all “columns” then count the raw # of hits, the opponent chooses what got hit (except in the rare case when multi-national defenders cannot agree, in which case the attacker chooses). In research as well, you can’t buy 1 Tech Die at a time and roll till you get a hit; you must decide how many dice you want and roll all of them at once.

I often remember that all the dirty tricks and annoying habits do result often in a higher winning percentage. Do the players that you are matched up against, simply irritate to throw you off your game? I am reminded on one such case where I went up against a fellow Axis and Allies player that couldn’t stop talking. I’m serious; the whole ordeal was simply excruciating, and this coming from a guy that usually kept to himself! Every single move I made, whether it was simply placing my units or routinely refilling my transports, he would question and nitpick at it. Always pressuring you to hurry up and end your move, whereupon the start of his, he would spend 5 minutes intentionally pondering on what to purchase.

Did he win? You sure bet he did. And it was not the fact that he was a better player tactical wise, but because he could convince you to reconsider your own sound moves and making senseless judgment errors. I still believe that the 99% of all Axis and Allies players are fine, upstanding individuals, but there are just some people who will go to any level to win. And when you go up against these like, question yourself if the game is really worth playing against him.
