The expanded Victory rules should work well with triplea, as time and space aren’t a issue when playing. I could see UK or even USSR loss not being a complete loss for the Allies.

Obviously would make life difficult :) Axis be hard pressed to overcome the loss of Nippon though. Unless the reich steamrolling the commies :)

Just to clarify, regular Bmbrs, including Heavies, can only do the max OOB damage to a Fctry ? You need a nuke to do more than 20 to a Major Fctry ? Conventional bombs can only max at OOB totals ?

I guess I need to start working on the A-Bomb. :) Got a kick ass Research Facility that Hepps made years ago. Should work nicely

Well I can’t find it right now. I have an alternative one as well but it doesn’t look quite as cool :) Hopefully I can track it down. It should be out there somewhere :)

The game was Axis And Allies 1941, and I don’t remember. I don’t think it was crazy though, due to other misunderstandings of the rules:

All sides can only attack at one place per turn.

When fighting the number of units doesn’t matter-each type of dice roll (4 or less, 3 or less, and the rest) is rolled for only once.

These two misunderstandings weren’t too bad in the small 1941 game, but was a real problem with the really big Global 1940 game, like 10 strategic bombers only rolling once.

We advice players to consider an Emergency Soviet Strategic Plan that is able to counter a German attack against the Soviet Union in Early 1940 and/or Late 1940.

Such plan must include USSR-United Kingdom Lend-Lease from round 1 and/or 2 and 3.

We have experienced 3 games during this Axis & Allies Wiking-Con season where Germany attacked the Soviet Union in 1st and 2nd round.

The Tank Destroyer unit can only target any of these enemy units:

Any type of Tank unit including Panzer General units Mechanized Infantry unit Tank Destroyer unit Armoured Infantry and Panzergrenadier unit

Allied Tank Destroyer units can also fire at these German Waffen-SS units:

Panzergrenadier Panzer including Waffen-SS Panzer General unit Tank Destroyer

Wow, things can really get out of hand, can’t they? First of all, I stand corrected, but only to a point. What I mean by that is, Baron, you are correct, all planes would be defending, therefore they would be in the air to begin with. What I was still trying to address is the statement, Cannot carry plane when damaged. That is still incorrect. If say A British carrier has one British and one American fighter on it and is in the attacking force, and it is the British turn, then the American fighter of course would not participate in the attack. It would be relegated to sitting on deck, and if the carrier is subsequently damaged, the American fighter would still be on deck, not able to take off on the American turn. Again I am addressing Cannot carry plane, not anything else.

You were right about this statement, it was too absolute and didn’t accurately describe OOB rule.
That is why I answered by adding the point on friendly aircrafts trapped in a carrier.
But, if your carrier is damaged, it is not possible to trap your own aircrafts inside.
This last point wasn’t clear, especially when subs only are attacking @2 first strike carriers with no destroyer escorting. I returned to the rulebook to be sure about it.

Baron, I have to disagree with you on the cannot carry plane when damaged statement. They cannot launch or receive planes after being damaged, but if for example a loaded carrier was surprise attacked by a sub and only damaged and not sunk, then I believe the plane(s) would be trapped on the carrier until such time as it was repaired or sunk.

Talking OOB rules, …

On offense, only friendly plane(s) carried on board is/are trapped if the carrier was damaged in combat.
