I was twelve when I got 1941. I am only 16 still. My group consists of 11-53 years of age the youngest being my little brother. Most of us are 15-18. Three of them are family members and the rest are friends or simply kids from school. I would recommend that he first ask his family if they are interested. That is a small chance so he can then go to his friends or people his age he is axquainted with or anyone decent and interested really. However, I spent my first year just playing solo and occasionally with family and this really helped me get the rules down. Best of luck to him!
New Modern A&A Game
-
Hi I created a modern variant of axis and allies called Superpowers. I have a fully produced board game version and and online version. Both work great. this may be the next big board game out there!
Experiences A&A players needed to join in the fun. Game is fully functioning with all known bugs worked out.
Main differences between this game and a&a:
- Diplomacy rules between players
- Modern weapons
- More technology
- New pieces including nuclear missiles, artillery, national leaders and generals
- better income system and combat systems
Give it a try and give feedback too!

Hello CaptRick,
Would you have a link to the rules? I was unable to find it at the website. (Never mind, I found it under help, duh!!!)
Also would you have pictures of unit sculpts. (But I’m still interested in any pictures of the game pieces).
It looks interesting and wanted to get a look at the rules first.
Thank you,
-
Careful, it’s addicting.
I find myself going to the superpowers website every few hours to see if I can make another move….
…come on enemy mine, move already! -
Hey calmDragon =)
ok here’s a link to the rules:
http://www.superpowersgame.com/docs/manual.pdfand this link shows all the game components:
http://www.superpowersgame.com/scripts/game_purchase_sale.phpThe game play is amazing and the best feature is the diplomacy rules. You end up making a lot of deals with other players before the teams settle down.
Also playing online is more fun than A&A because you don’t have to sit and wait for the other players to take their turns. Simply take your turn and then check back later in the day or next day.

I made some changes to the interface and the basic training sequence so if anyone tried playing this and got confused, give it another try.
The basic training takes about 15 minutes or so to play and then you can join up to 3 games and play against other players. Just take 1 turn a day and then wait for your turn to come around again. Its very fun.
