A&A:Europe subs cannot take hits from airplanes unless the attacking units have destroyer with them.

So attacking AC & 2 subs is really good option, for taking 18ipc boat down and having 50/50 of not losing a plane.

Dudes and chicks, it’s been done, i took the AAE board to the local library, where color copies are about 20 cents cheaper, blew it up in pieces, then pasted them together onto four pieces of 20x30 “Sturdy Board”, foam board I bought at Joanne Fabrics. So the area of my new board is four times the size of the original. It’s huge, and it’s awesome. Essentially, each quadrant of the original board has been blown up to the size of the original board. It ended up costing about $30 bucks, but it was worth it. Not that the original board is completely inadequate, but it’s just so much easier to assess everything when there is more space between the pieces, and easier to move them around, not to mention feeling like your working over some government war-room map.

For the Allies to win, the Soviet counterattacks must be focused – and lucky! Build/borrow as many fighters as you can. Also I advise NOT strategic bombing. I cannot see how the high risk of aircraft loss is worth the gain of turning six German IPCs into ash. Gimme a break. Take out a couple of Wehrmacht infantry, and strafe & bomb Panzer divisions from the safety of a combined air-ground attack, and you can wipe out dozens of IPC value, with zero threat to your expensive air wings. Much better deal every time.

Meanwhile, the order of the day for the Yanks and Brits is to correctly manage the balance of transports, destroyers & troops they’ll need for D-Day. Simplify: Tan boats will haul tan troops, green will haul green. See if you can steal a forward fighter base, maybe best in Norway.

I increaase the size of my map using photo shop. I forget the actual size, but it was about six feet long. I then divided up some of the land and sea units into smaller units. This will increase game play and the time. I did all this in photo shop. I then burnt it to CD and to it to Kinkos. They have a supper large color printer. I printed the whole thing and they laminated it to. Of course it cost me about $40 bucks, but it was worth it. I know have a real clean and clear color map with almost 1/2 more spaces and is 6 feet long by 4 feet (i think) and is laminated. I can use a dry erase pen on it if I want to and roll it up and take it anywhere. I also use a 6 large page claps (you can get them at any office supply store) and clap it to any table.
This is the only way to go!!!
