Looking for thoughts on some ideas I have for events that would bring a surge of troops to the table so to speak.
I read in one of the optional rules about the US getting an immediate influx of 10 infantry at no charge once war was declared on them or they declared war. I don’t fully recall and am paraphrasing, but the notion was that that sudden influx represented the mobilizing of the National Guard that took place on Dec 8 and after.
If Japan proper was attacked, would there- should there be an immediate influx of volunteers or civilians who’d been training for repelling an invasion? In such a circumstance should Japan get 10 (or more) infantry to defend the home island at no charge?
Should Russia get an infusion of infantry the turn after or maybe 2 after Germany attacks?
Would Germany get such a mass infusion of troops if Germany came under attack- akin to the Volkstrum and the masses of men and boys who picked up arms in the final months?
I have my own ideas but would love to read what others think about my questions.
Cheers,
Chris

I doubt this is an original idea, but here we go:
Any one ever try to do games risk style? You would play the first game normally, but after the first country’s capital falls you end the game. You still keep all your captured territories, get to free move your troops, place a few new ones down, determine new alliances and play again. Then continue like that until its a massive 1 v 1 war. I think it would add some competitive tension, and a “Land Grab” mentality.
Naturally a hard copy of these rules would need to be written down though….
Any thoughts?

i think that it is possible to play the game with alliances,
each player start’s the game independently, alliances can be formed for capturing territories, or defending territories,
if a player agrees to reinforce another player’s attack ( there is a house rule that allow’s player’s to reinforce for multi-national attack / ) or defence, the player’s concerned could divide the i.p.c. captured or held by negotiating the value among themselves,
some thing like a free for all, with the idea that alliances could be formed,
i would determine victory by last alliance standing / or a set number of victory cities
player’s could form alliances, or go it alone,
if you have lot’s of playing pieces, from other edition’s of axis and allies, you could have up to 10 player’s in a huge free for all, with alliances being made,
if you lend some of your force to a player they would take command of that force, and it would be that plkayer’s initiative to send it back or use it, these forces could not be used to attack the same alliance, or their original power,
they could however be captured, by the player that wanted the alliance, and used as hostages,
i think that a rule set would be fun,
