Seeing my older brother every Christmas after he left to go live with his dad. My older brother died about 9 years ago short one year of his 50th birthday. No Christmas gift can ever replace him.

But the Sarlacc could never hold Fett. Thanks to his iron will and Mandalorian armor, Fett was able to fight his way out of the beast’s belly, killing the Sarlacc.

In the Expanded Universe, that is.  The Expanded Universe also had a smuggler that was a rabbit.  You can do a lot in the Expanded Universe.  Doesn’t mean that it was true to character.  Original character from the movies was a joke operationally.  He just had a cool suit that he got from his dead dad.

Actually in the Clone Wars TV series Boba Fett makes a couple of appearances and is not incompetent for a teenager. They certainly suggested potential.

Actually, the telecoms never broke the law.  They may freely give the Government, or anyone else, any information about you they want.  The Privacy Act does not apply.  In fact, as long as they can claim they did not profit from the information they gave the FBI/Homeland Security, they are completely immune.

I reference the case where consumers attempted to sue Jet Blue for giving away their information (including Social Security numbers, addresses, telephone numbers, demographics like number of children, race, etc) to the FBI.  The judge ruled that yes, Jet Blue did give away personal information without permission, however, there was no law forbidding Jet Blue from freely giving away that information.  And, since the Federal Government did not take that information by force (they politely asked for it) they did NOT need a warrant to get the information.

So giving the Telecoms protection for giving away information for free (the same info they probably sell to private companies and individuals btw) is just stopping frivolous lawsuits and stop the waste of federal money through wasted time and expense for a case that cannot be won, due to precedent being set with the Jet Blue Case.

Remember, the Privacy Act does not apply to everything.  Only very specific industries in very specific circumstances with very specific information.  Everything else can be handed out like candy.  Furthermore, no where in the Constitution does it state that citizens have a right to privacy.  It’s implied, but not enforced nor expressly written.  You have a right to protection against illegal search and seizure, but you were not illegally searched, you gave the telecoms this information freely, and it was not seized, the telecoms gave it away.

I dont know where in the US they are from, but I see them all the time.

Try this irony on for size:
The “conservatives” in the U.S. have since 1980 squawked relentlessly about reducing government in our lives. Then comes 9/11 and now government can’t be big enough to suit them: bankrupt the economy with nonstop war, trash the various civil protections of the Constitution, spy on your neighbors, turn librarians into Big Brother recording machines, etc.

Not only city and town councils - - but even LOCAL POLICE departments – have made it known publicly that they will refuse to enforce the dictates of Patriot Act II (the resistance began to Patriot Act I; this new bill is more of the same, in spades). When your local cops start saying there are some new laws and procedures they will refuse to follow – pay attention!

cc, you are incisive with your comparison to Castro. The Bush-Ashcroft administration is paternalistic. Americans are asking themselves: Do we want big daddy to tell us what to do and not, say and not, where to go and not – or are we a nation of freedom-loving individuals, ready to defend our reasonably structured civil rights with the same dedication and heat that our ancestors applied to win those rights in the first place!

And you don’t think we oppose them too? But so far, no hate crimes have been committed or buildings exploded. I say that would be Democracy at work.
