I’m really enjoying playing the miniatures game.

Depending on the year, the Finnish soldiers can fight off the Russian and then fight off the Germans.  Do they come with skis on or a sauna?

I agree, when I saw his build I thought I might be ok as long as I didn’t get the Urban map.  and then that crazy first shot he made!  Usualy several shots bounce off the E8 before it’s dammaged.  I was only able to take two Pzr IVs with me. :-(

Now it’s down to a couple M1 Garands and a sniper…

I completly forgot about the T-35!

Understood on 100 point armor builds but the year makes a huge difference.  Is this just in general, or are you building for a specific scenario?

Your initial question is a 100point armor build viable for the germans?  Just an opinion but, Yes. On earlier scenarios as you go up it will get harder and you will have to be more creative lets say 1943 and up (the allies just have good cheap stuff).  The 35 pt Panther(1942 I think) a brummbar(1943) and a Hetzer(1944) are all good.  The Brummbar is priceless against infantry and is fairly cheap 22.

So I got the case of D Day releases and am generally quite pleased.  As I got to the last box I was hoping for a German or British Rare but got that French tank.  Oh well I had no doubles on other rares and am pleased.

What happened to the scale of the 88mm.  I know it was a scary piece but its not that big.  At the same time there were a couple of other vehicles that came across very small.

So we set up a new map.  I made a 3 foot by 8 foot hex map on a roll of brown craft paper.  For all of the various terrain types we cut different coloured paper hexes and laid them out.  It was a very cool map and I can change the trerrain as desired.  We played a European game of 500 point armies in a meeting engagement.  It was about four hours to play 7 turns.  With so much terrain it was important to build significant transport into the mix and run it up and back shuttling the infantry into the fight.

I lost three Sherman varients just to take out the veteran Tiger.

Though I like the grizzled veteran, it is the inspiring hero who has captured my heart.  The last two games I have played with the British I have used the Inspiring Hero in conjuction with 2 piat gunners by themselves in adjacent hexes.  I wait for the Germans to get close- then chaos erupts as I drop my Hero in with my PIATs and they skip forward and stop any armor column dead in it’s tracks.  In each game I have destroyed three tanks, the last one I destroyed a Elite Panzer III, a Puma, and a Panzer IV.  I love PIAT gunners now.

Besides new units, what other kinda new stuff will the new set include?  Like new maps, with new terrain, or what?
