    Yes, and on the sub’s turn it can move and destroy that unescorted transport automatically.


  • the subs will attack the trannie if they desire on there turn. I would like to piont out that i read a thread that subs can go through sea zones were destroyers are and not get attacked if the destroyer does not roll a 3 or lower and this roll gos for each 1 there.

    Example. 3 subs are coming from a sea (baltic sea)  then in the english channel is 2 destroyers the 3 subs go to the sea under france but before they make it 2 destroyers get to roll 2 dice of 3 or lower if they find these 3 subs then they may choose to attack it. Nice thing huh subs go sub!


  • A question about transports in combat.

    Here is the situation.

    Turn 1 England moves an unescorted Transport to Sea Zone 12 in the Atlantic next to Gibraltar and offloads troops in Gibraltar.  On Italy’s turn, can he move his entire fleet from Italy to Sea Zone 12 and get 2 Shore Bombard shots (a “4” from his Battleship and a “3” from his Cruiser) and attack Gibraltar with 2 land troops (a man and a tank) and have the UK transport distroyed?

    Please answer this, because this is an actual situation in a game we are currently playing.

    Ehhhh, yes of course, aren’t you then?  :-D

    Take the R9 version of the map, load her up into a photoshop program and start printing the map on a colour printer. Then take a big piece of laminate (don’t know the exact English word) and use it to make a 63" by 33" board like we did.

    Then use the pieces from AA and AAR and AAP for the different countries.

    Yes, I currently live in China, but we have a group of Americans who like to play Axis & Allies, and we already have an older version of Axis and Allies for the pieces.  Here in China, we can print a nice full-sixe or larger gameboard out for about $5-6, so we did that for the AAHE, and we liked it, but we like the new map for AA50 better.  We already played 1 game, and the Alies won handily (The Axis conceeded after 7 rounds.), but that was because Germany lost all of his Air Force by the second turn, UK built and held an Indian IC which was never taken, and Russia got Mechanized Infantry.

    We ARE planning to buy AA50 the next time one of us returns to America.

    It looks like Axis were not playing very well here.

    To answer your question:
    Yes Italy can do that. The unprotected UK t-port is automatically destroyed. Since it is not a combat unit, the Italian BB and CA can still use their offshores on Gibraltar.

    You are right.  The German player made some bad moves and got some bad rolls, and dice fell the Allies way a little more than the Axis.


  • Oops, sorry about that. Next time I will refrain myself from answering these kind of questions until I actually have a rulebook.  :-D

    You must have been reading about some other game.  Destroyers always block sub movement.


  • O ok but i think that would be a lot cooler “house rule ahmmm”

    Anyways choosing for bombardment or killing a transport i would choose bumbardment if the transport is basically useless were it stands
