I cannot play on xone with WINDOWS XP

@usmc3537x You just need to download TripleA: https://triplea-game.org/download/

Then you can download the maps from in game after installing and launching it. You can play against the AI, join the lobby to play live, or play by forum/email.

I have a 98edition A&A-won’t run on my P4with WinXP-runs on my old P3with Me2000.It also doesn’t seem to have the capability to auto join multiplayer games.
  I would assume a newer game would be in order!

I run XP and have no issues with A&A at all. I would suggest a couple of things:

1. Make sure you cdrom drive you play the game from is on DMA mode and not PIO mode.

2. Upgrade to the latest Direct X package.

3. Make sure you are using the most current drivers for your video card.

Those are all standard answers I know but you just can’t be too sure. Does this do this in any other games or programs or just A&A?

The first one is a classic, and it also, doesn’t fluctuate rule wise as much…

I understand that when you are using a hub or router for your internet connection, there are also some sticky issues. (I get an directplay error despite the fix). Has anyone found a solution to this problem? (Solutions to the problem are hinted at other message boards, but I’ve been unable to find the actual fix.)
