Anyone here interested in Poland?

I started this summer with a starter pack. Then I bought some boosters (39-45), but now I’m buying on Ebay.
This way you combine your own army,depending on the side you want to play.

The years are all wrong on those, unless you mean the post invasion Polish forces.  The western Allies had Polish units.  And Russians put togtehr Polish units from the captured territirie to fight the Germans too.

If you are doing Invasion of Poland-era, then stick to 1939.

For the Luksusowa scenario, I did research to see what units the Poles actually fielded.  These are limited to 1939:

Renault R-35 The Polish government tried to purchase Somoa’s (considered to be the best tank of the era) from the French, but ended up purchasing Renaults.

Bren Machine Gunner  Polish light armour, what they had, were often equipped with BRENs.

Bold Captain 1939 Commander…and he’s defense-oriented.

Yes, like most of the other hype (yeah I’m talking to you, Rhino) it’s turned out to be not all that bad. It’s a threat for sure, but counterable.

8 bucks for 24 what though? Seems like that is 8 bucks PER vehicle. Thats dam steep.

Ok for using infantry I guess. Most AAM infantry looks to be about 15mm. But the vehicles would be too large would they not?

France fought beside the Americans and Brits for the duration of the war. I can’t see them siding with the Soviets; at least not right away (perhaps the USSR eventually wins massive swaths of Europe, forcing the French, Romanians, and Polish to fight for them). If war broke out I don’t think the UK would stay as an intermediary for very long. Once France fell to the Soviets they’d see the Red Army as a threat.

The Red Army: Soviets, French, Polish, Romanians, Conscripted Germans/Looted German tanks

One of my favorite video games has alot to do with this. Freedom Fighters assumes that the Soviets actually dropped the first atomic bomb, on Berlin. Thus began the assimilation of all of Europe. Eventually the war reaches American shores.

All the boxes from booster1 were like this.  Really easy to open and reglue.  Thats why the changed it int booster2.

As long as you cards are still sealed in the platic bag you are OK.  But it was really easy for “bad” people to open a box to see what was inside. If they didn’t like… just heat the glue a litte and reclose the box

I guess wizards took the decision purely on low cost… cheap bastards !!

Over in the Rules Discussion of the Avalon Hill message boards, there’s that project called the “Historical House Rules [HHR]”, and it’s an attept to make the rule-cards more realistic and balanced for quite a few units (others were left alone). Has anyone tried using these? We gave them a spin the other night and they seem alot more realistic and had their actual historical capaicity on the battlefield. My only gripe is that the cards are in the A&AM colors, which means they’ll kill your printer if you want to print 'em up.
