Yeah 1 billion $ seems like a lot, but that will buy you like 10 houses in LA and like 100,000 in Louisiana (I know that’s an exaggeration) so I think the looting / dameges are all relative.
As for the human life I know you can’t put a price on that.
At the time I was a kid living near Modesto, California. It was very scary going to school.

92 riots were isolated to south central and very few isolated stores got vandalized. South Central is the worst place to live. If you park your car you either lose the rim or the tire gets shanked. And don’t ever wear a bandanna.
We got more violence when the laker’s won with shaq.
