Strait Interdiction

I realize the delay has been longer than anticipated. Life happens, and in the busy season since Easter, I haven’t been able to sit down and pull things together.

Intriguing. I gotta say, I’ve never thought about specifically altering the momentum structure (who has the intiative) in this game, but I think it might make for a very fun game. Explaining it historically as weather works, especially on the Eastern Front.

The original Global 1940 games alraedy tries to make the Solomons valuable by attaching some of ANZAC’s and Japan’s national objectives to it.

I remember how the 1914 map has the Balearic Islands and Spanish Morrocco as seperate territories and I think it would be cool if Global 1940 had the same function.

I think Corsica would work quite well as a seperate French territory. It would give the Allies a lot more room to hit Italy early on.

Finished reading the rules. I think they’re well-balanced and give nations a lot of new options, both for those who do have atomic bombes and those who don’t.

I use a LL chart for Russia and sometimes UK gets a Destroyer. Plus in Ger NA I have if they get they can buy a Ger piece and place at a Italy ic or buy Italy 1 piece and place at a Italian ic. I think this is best way so you don’t interfere with the Transports. Besides I have enough convoy raiding going on in the Atlantic. If you guys are interested in my rules and game NA just to give u more ideas I can post more here if you’d like.

just some suggestions, but maybe the rule should say, that you can only non combat move through a narrow strait if both adjacent territories are not hostile. They can be friendly, neutral or yours, but they can not be hostile.

Now, if one or both adjacent territories are hostile, you must combat move through that narrow strait.

I dont know exactly how this should be played out, but I believe the owner of the hostile territory should be able to scramble fighters, and the attacker can of course use his fighters as escort, just like in the real war Channel Dash. Maybe even a minefield rule, but 2 or less as hits are too much, maybe each 1 is a hit, same as AA fire. We could even use some modified rules from A&A Guadalcanal and let Artillery units on land act as coastal guns and fire at the ships. The only drawback would be like you want to cross the English Channel, but Germany has stacked like 20 Artillery units in Normandy, or something.
