Luchs 2 mods & Sd234/4 mod with crew

To go with my “V1.5” (1:110 scale) Muas (and soon to be E-100s) is this turret. It is completely interchangeable between Maus and E-100s, like all turrets I make for these.

The 3 small MG teams are AAM minis customized to be US marine 30 cal teams (with home-made ammo belts and resculpted men). The other 30 cal teams and 50 cal teams are FoW.
  I have not done very much FoW stuff yet, but I do know I do not like the overly-heavy inked lines I see on so many “pro-painted” FoW minis I see. I did use inks, but I made sure to dry-brush the men afterwards to lessen the bulky thick ink lines I see on so many others.

Two Pz IIIs (AAM collectables v2.0) painted to normal standards.
One Px IV, same scale, done to extra-fine standards.
PzIV has hollowed out turret, with top hatch and side turret hatch open.
Spent ammo shells cast from inside the turret were added. Also added are front spare tracks and track bar, bars to hold spare road wheels on, and a completed rear-end with rear axle housings. Battle damage done with pine-cone grinder bit and painted rusted & blackened. Fender gaps seperated from tracks with jewelers file and “bent”. Rust all around and rust-drips on vertical surfaces. Footwear and misc dings added. Commander added. Sprocket and track teeth silvered. Silvery-rusty scrape zone on barrel from recoils.

AAM collectables version 2.0 Sherman and an original recoiless rifle with 2 added crew and flocking. 5 shades of green layered on Sherman.

While my German army has 2 hunting tigers, 2 KTs, 2 Elephants, 4 Tiger Is, 6 Panthers, 3 Jagd Panthers, 2 Panther MKIIs, etc, etc, etc, the Sd251s are the crux of my German army. In my armor rules, each Sd251 can carry 2 troops. Versions with 37mm, 75mm, and mortars can still carry 1 troop. This makes them able to also tow an artillery piece with its crew, or to carry a superbly armed panzer grenadier.

I line them up and on my 1st turn all the mortars and 75mm short guns fire smoke (which lasts for 3 turns). All the other Sd251s take off full speed. Blinded by a continous line of smoke right in front of them, the enemy is helpless to stop these halftracks from racing halfway across the battlefield and setting up thier 75mm AT field pieces and a few 88mm AT guns as well. When the smoke clears, the enemy is faced with a line of artillery all in critical killing range, and a solid line of halftracks charging them - all which carry troops or thier own AT guns. The enemy is overwhelmed by both numbers and the tough choice of picking off the halftracks or the guns.

I had 2 Panther 2 chassis from Milton Bradley “Tank Battle” game, but had some extra turrets. I decided I would not normally need to use the Coelian, Bergepanther, AND the command version all at the same time, and could live with fielding up to 2 of them in any combo. If I dont use either of the 3, then I can still get 2 more normal Panthers into the game.
  The Bergepanther I had to cheat on, and make the spades connected to the back of the superstructure, so it would remove with it. I may still crew the superstructure of that. But these being 1:144 scale, any A&A guys would look like monsters, and actual 144 crew would look like shrimps. In front of the Bergepanthers superstructure is a “false opening” some thin blackened plastic, to give the illusion that the front driver/gunner hatch plate is gone (its not used on the bergepanther). I used the same black plastic to make the box-like superstructure appear to go down into the hull, where pullies and gears are visable too. Front MG added to glassis plate top, as the extra mechanics of the tank take up the normal gunners position. The Bergepanther is my fav of the bunch.

Im gonna try it and see if i can do it. Normally Id just pay to have it done, but id like to just see what it takes. Ill take this info and apply it and see how it goes.

It’s kinda self-destructive to my cause, but every now and then a few tips can be pryed loose    :wink:
