Funky building

I visited the Philippines once and had a great time. The cuisine was excellent, and the staff were incredibly friendly and hospitable. Additionally, I went to “Corregidor Island” and the historic part of “Intramuros in Manila” , which was fascinating, particularly for anyone interested in WWII history. Without a doubt, I hope to return someday.

Seeing my older brother every Christmas after he left to go live with his dad. My older brother died about 9 years ago short one year of his 50th birthday. No Christmas gift can ever replace him.

“Political satire” would be a good characterization.  The US Navy only rarely names ships after living persons; Reagan was an exception, but Clinton wasn’t.

Reprint from newspaper:

A zoning board had just been set up in a new community.  A householder went to the office to request permission to build a small toolshed in his backyard.

“Have you a plan?” asked the director?

“Oh yes,” said the householder, who showed him a map of his neighborhood, the dimension of his yard, and a sketch of the shed.

“That looks fine,” said the director.  He pulled out a piece of paper, wrote a few words on it, Xeroxed it and said, “Here’s your permission.”

A month later, a neighbor in almost exactly the same situation also wanted permission for a shed in her yard.  She went to see the director, got as far as a secretary, and made her request.  “Thank you, Mrs. Smith,” said the secretary, taking the documents.  “Telephone me in two weeks and I’ll let you know what the director’s decision is, or what further steps are necessary.”

“But,” groaned Mrs. Smith, “a month ago my neighbor got permission right away!”

“Oh yes,” said the secretary, “but that was before we finally got organized.”

I should mention my Son is 4 :D

From what I’ve seen of the final choice … I’m not crazy about it.
It will stand 1776(cute) ft. tall … the tallest building in the world … for a while.
It will leave memorial pits where the old buildings(2 out of 3 which fell, tower 7 fell, too) stood. A waste of economic and political space and power(which fights terrorism.)
I preferred another choice. Oh, well! :cry:
