@Mn-guy Yes, other units can participate in the sea battle. Other than being a prelude to an amphibious assault, it is just like any other sea battle. The rules on page 15 mention only battleships and transports because they are the only units that can participate in the land battle.

As a side note, attacking air units must, of course, be assigned to either the sea or the land battle, as indicated by where they end their combat movement. They cannot participate in both, even if the amphibious assault is against an island.

@Krieghund Thanks! (For completeness, I should have been more clear in that Germany controlled Persia at the beginning of its turn in this example. i.e. there was/is a legal landing zone for the fighter)

@burmaboi The rules consistently use the term “into” when referencing the ending space of a unit’s move and “through” when referencing spaces passed through along the way. So, an air unit must conduct combat if it moves “into” an enemy-occupied space, but not “through” one (other than being fired upon by AA guns). Also, on page 14, the rules mention AA guns in “flown over” territories, which indicates that enemy-occupied territories may be moved through, and the Official Rules Clarifications make the same reference on page 2 in point 6 regarding AA guns.

Yea - those Expansions brought tons of fun & challenge.

I have never seen these before they include: 4 yellow with the image of a zero, 6 yellow pill box, 12 jap control markers with numbers in the center, 12 USA control markers with numbers in the middle of them, 10 marines with eagle globe and anchor logo, 6 commando with skull and cross bones logo, 6 German SS with patch logo, 4 fighters unavailable this turn for duty with red circled a/c logo, 6 paratroopers with patch logo, 6 air transport with a/c art work, 6 troop carriers with truck art work, finally 2 with artillery art work. Any ideas as to who made them?

That sounds like the gamers paradise expansion. I have all three expansion sets they put out.

I agree that it is foolish to buy anything other than infantry for some time, but I do like to strafe at the begining of the game; it allows me (Russia) to have some control over the front. Not feeling in control is probably one of my worst enemies.

Sadly, the v133 patch does not fix everything and there are still a lot logical errors to be dealt with. For instance, for some reason I can still have more than one AA gun in the same territory. It is not these errors that enrage me (anybody can avoid these problems by just not performing them), but the horrid AI in the game and the sudden crashes (the later being somewhat corrected in v133).
