As long as the seazone that surrounds the island does not contain any blocking enemy ships it is friendly and may be passed through. The seazone is not part of the territory.

Generally, especially in the early game, ceding the territory is the way to go.

Rome landings realy arent much of a problem for Germany, as the opportunity cost of those units not punching thru Cairo are enormous.

Personally, I love to see USA extend his shuck in the early game, defending both SZ 12 and SZ 14 is very difficult without spending a bunch of (unnecessary) money on capital ships (BS and AC), and having enough trannies to do so efficiently is very expensive as well.  Every dollar USA spends on non-ground units is a boon to the Axis.

In Revised USA doesnt have an enormous monetary advantage, and so there is only so many things they can accomplish.

Keeping Paris stacked tall is far more important for keeping the Allies out of Europe for as long as possible.  A stack of Ftrs tere make USA extending past 12 very difficult.

Yes, if America decides to try and move through SZ 60 with those ships in the combat movement phase, they will have to stop and engage the defending enemies.  However, if you clear them out and then try to move your ships through on non-combat they can sail through.

Because the med fleet will be blocked by a Russian sub, Germany, at most, can attack UK with the following:

6 infantry, 6 armor, 6 fighters, and 1 bomber.

I like the 2 FTR, 3 INF on UK1 myself so that isn’t that bad a battle to fight really.

7 INF (2 UK Start; 2 US; 3 UK1 buy)
2 RTL (1 UK, 1 US)
2 ARM (1 UK, 1 US assuming SZ1 TRN sunk)
5 FTRS (2 UK, 1 US, 2 UK1 buy)
2 BOM

Take the Bombers as 1st round casulties and you aren’t too bad.

Moving the UK BB and TRN and the R sub to SZ6 will draw off some air power as Frood says it is aprox. 78% for the UK/R in the naval battle with just 2 subs and a Des.

One of those things you shouldn’t feel too bad about losing though.

This is my Sea Lion strategy, it works 75% of the time(the only times it failed was because I shouldn’t have launched Sea Lion):
1st build
Baltic Carrier, 1-2 fighters and whatever else you want, NO transports.
1st move: whatever you like, move all your air to EE, move everything out of Norway and WE, do NOT move German Meditteranean Navy to Gibraltar!

This plan is much more flexible than a purchase of 5 trannies, If you clearly can’t launch Sea Lion, then the CV still defends the Baltic pretty well.

Yea, sounds more flexible than first-turn-attack!

But you may be very short on INF after spend 26 or 36 IPC at fleet in the first round.
And it will work only once, if ever. In that case you have described I would go to ALG with both UK and US and would buy one more TRA for UK and minimum five ground units to fill my trannies at next round.
Frood says something like you capture UK, but lost 4 FIG. Perhaps more if both UK and US bomber are at UK too. And US and UK both have troops to get UK back immediately. UK will lose one rounds of building units, and you can’t attack a second time, I think.

I don’t think you can win the war with these. You win a move against UK in europe, you lose a move against russia because of missing INF. That 30 bucks from UK can’t buy your four FIG back (but you will have long range air).

But it seems to be a funny variant. Perhaps I’ll try it out just to see the face of my oppenent. May be worth it. ;)
