I’m sad to announce that Mario Rigoni Stern is dead, tonight. He was 86-years old and he was ill since long time.
He was a great writer. He wrote “Il Sergente nella neve” (“The sergeant in the snow”), the most popular book about the tragic italian retreat from Ukraine, during WW2.
