FFA Rules and discussion

No it is not.

But the current turn the discussion is taking WOULD be a very good thread to have going if properly identified.

My post was to encourage taking that very positive discussion to a new thread where it would be appropriate, and far more widely read.

The problem with the per turn instead of per move time limit…

You allow 5 days for a turn.
The Axis player waits 4 1/2 days then posts their Germany move.

Now the Allies have to go twice, and the axis once, in 12 hours, or the game gets a delay notice… most likely against the Allied player who’s turn would be due next eventhough it was the Axis player who chewed up nearly all of the 5 day time limit for the turn.

Actually Cragi, he stated that they flew over Western to attack, and back over Western to retreat.  For that to be the case (in the #1 example at the start of the thread) the FIGs would HAVE to be attacking, not defending.

And under LHTR, Attacking aircraft retreat as I specified.

The reason they are rated low, for me, is as follows:

1)  Submarines are expensive
2)  Submarines die to fighters without risk to the fighters
3)  Submarines purchased take 4 full turns to break even (odds?)
4)  The two submarines in SZ 5 die in every game I’ve ever seen.  It’s just a debate over when, not if they die.
5)  Germany has no business buying up lots of submarines.
6)  America is relatively unaffected by U-Boats.  Sure, they have less money, but honestly, -3 IPC from 42 IPC is not that much.

Those are ranked in order of importance to me.

That said, if you get them as a random bonus, it isn’t horrible.  Germany, of course, has no worthless advantages.

If so, search for ‘Triplea Warclub’ on your computer. There you can download rules and files to play the game online or via e-mail.
I learned how to play on their game  ladder, ( I don’t own a boardgame) and have played well over 80 games, with over a 50% win rate.

When it comes to the rules, I have NEVER known him to be wrong.

While I try real hard to get it right, that doesn’t mean I’m not wrong from time to time. :-D

Plus, I have people like Blackwatch to bounce things off if it is really convoluted. :-o
