I usually start shipping troops and a small fleet to africa to threaten the underbelly of Europe, building up enough forces over several turns to eventually launch a strike or reinforce WEU. At the same time I am slowly building a navy in the Pacific to make sure Japan doesnt go unchecked, and maybe if japan has their navy out of the way I will build a transport and take borneo, just to be an annoyance.
So how does online play work?

Thanks, I’d give you a karma point if I knew how.

You need to have a certain amount of post to give karma, I think it’s 100. I guess that’s meant to prevent unscrupulous individuals from signing up with a dozen different names just to blast a bunch of negative karma around, or give themself a bunch of positive. ~ZP

Yeah all players have to use the same platform (triplea, abattlemap, etc) for smooth play.
djensen, founder of this forum, once sugguested a universal format for axis and allies maps.
I think thats the way to go.TripleA is open source. But Abattlemap and Mapview isn’t so that might be hard.

For detailed information about play by email (online play) you may want to check the DAAK homepage - it’s completly in english
DAAK uses ABattlemap as common map program and different online diceys (for each game variant), which work all quite similar to that one
Actually we are using that dicey right now for our AAR ADS games.
However a common map program would be a nice thing.
