@Curtmungus your honor of being more famous than me is quite deserved. I salute you.
I has snow!
-
Could be August, it only lasts a few weeks, but it’s miserable. All that dusty clay turns into wet clay and you end up being 3 or 4 inches taller from the mud stuck to your boots.
-
@Guerrilla:
No Snow and a moderate Temperature in TX, Muwhahaha… Honestly Switch you should be happy that your in the kind of place that “auto-melts” your snow for you…
GG
LOL, yeah, it’s in the mid 60’s here. It’s tough sometimes to make the decision to either wear a jacket or long sleeve shirt, especialy if I haven’t had any coffee yet.
-
its snowing again. :x
and its going to be -8 without wind chill tonight. :| walking to and fro campus blows the big one.
but when i wear my down coat thats bigger than me, my thermal underwear, 2 pairs of socks, insolated boots, layers under coat, my hat, gloves and if needed b/c its freakin super freezing wind, my scarf, the elements cant touch me. 8-)
-
Given time Balung, the elements ALWAYS win. They are the one enemy that even the Corp cannot overcome. Just some wides words I remember from my days at Paris.

The worst I ever dealt with was -38F. I lived in an ancient 12x50 trailer at the time. I had frost INSIDE on my exterior walls to 12" above the floor (furnace could not keep up). When I went to start the car to go to work (a 1984 VW Rabbit) the starter made half a revolution then would not make another sound for 3 days until it warmed up.
I do NOT miss that crap!
:-D

do you measuere temperature in C too or only in Farenheits
how is it in USA
the other measures too
do you have kg, or the official is something else
i know you have miles, the rest of the world km
please tell me
-
Yes, we use Fahrenheit in the U.S.
And we use pounds (lbs) instead of kilograms.
-
USA uses the old Imperial measures rather than Metric.
Fahrenheit, Pounds, Feet, etc.
-
And why not? They’ve worked for countless generations, why change them now? What, just to make life easier, mathematically, for school kids??? Bah! Make em learn standard measure (what Switch calls Imperial). It builds character!
-
They teach Celsius in school along side of Fahrenheit. I can do both, but I think every American prefers Fahrenheit…
GG
-
To be honest, I never even learned how to convert from Celsius to Fahrenheit and back until 1997 in Community College.
Before then, it was always just a guess that the temp was within 32 degrees of each other, but accuracy was never that harped on in school. And, to be quite frank, no one used Celsius anyway, the weathermen don’t, the people on the street don’t.
-
Like I said, who honestly in America prefers Celsius over Fahrenheit… As for Weathermen/women they at least had to learn it in school and the people on the street only need to understand comfortable, Cold, #@$%!! Cold, Really *$#%^@!! Cold, Hot, @#$%#$ Hot, and Welcome to Hell…

and at least we dont use “stones” like the heathenistic brits. i weigh something something “stones” not even pounds or kilograms. its madness i say!
who came up with a weight measurement going “here’s a nice rock, this’ll be our new standard”

well, i suppose its old, very old

I just want to know who decided to weigh diamonds as a specific vegetable… and what idiot farmer they used since his carrots were only a fraction of a gram (not even a morsel for Bugs Bunny!)

If you are cold, you are wrong. There is no cold. There are only varying degrees of heat. Something can be less warm then something else, but nothing can be cold. Even absolute zero is the absence of all heat, not the maximum of all cold.
