I have the 15 yr old PC game by Hasbro Interactive.  I am having trouble with the graphics to play the game.  The game is made for WIN95/98 while my PC runs Win7.  What do I need to do to change in my settings for this to work.  Much appreciated.

Right click on the EXE file for the program (AandA.exe?)… in Win7 you’ll get options to enable windows compatibility mode, and several toggle switches.  Experiment a bit till you get something that works, you can use Win95 mode, Win98 mode, etc, etc… there’s also some other options, I forget what they are, but I had a very old Win95 game called Pacific General that just would not run under Win7 until I set it to Win95 mode and checked all the boxes, finally it ran as it should run in Win7 just like old Win95 days.

Aircraft Carriers
Although they don’t have an attack value and aren’t
represented on the battle strip, carriers can still participate
in an attack and can take hits, as long at least 1 unit with
an attack value attacks along with them. Any fighters or
tactical bombers on an aircraft carrier launch before the
carrier moves and move independently of the carrier.
These air units can make a combat move from the carrier’s
initial sea zone, or they can remain in that sea zone until
the Noncombat Move phase.

Nope.  Tanks can move up to 2 spaces, either in combat move phase OR in noncombat phase; not both.  If they are moving in combat move phase and they encounter any unit in the first territory they have to stop right there.  As of the noncombat move phase of the turn, they have already made a move for that turn so they can;t move a second time.

As for mechs, they can’t blitz but if they are paried up with a tank they can move together but the tank/mech combo must start and end in the same territory

I took my 1999 Europe, 2001 Pacific, 2004 Revised, 1942, 1942 2nd edition, and 1941 and put them into Artbins. Like you, I left specific campaign, global, and AA50th in their boxes.

In all current forms of the game since AA Anniversary edition, subs (and transports) can not and do not ever block movement.  So if in your example you can attack a stack of subs with a stack of destroyers and other units are free to proceed through to another seazone, even though there will be combat in that seazone (destroyer on sub).

enemy owned, but no unit present. 8-)
