<![CDATA[Alaska]]>last summer a reporter from Croatia went on a trip to record a documentary film about Canada, USA and Mexico and he visited Alaska too

i was indeed dazzled by the beauty of Alaskan land, the land is truly beautiful

and some interesting stuff

has only 600 000 people and on 1 person come 6 lakes size of at least 2-3 stadiums

the children sometimes travel to school by airplanes, hidroplanes, ships

and its said that Alaskan BDP per capita is slightly larger than USA average

so i wonder

how so that its only 600 000 people there

does government gives somes stimulations for the people on the mainlandUSA to settle there

has any of you been or lived, or lives there now

i would like to hear something more…

ALASKA
the only US State I have not been in. I plan on visiting one day soon, but in the summer only.
The state bird is the mosquito! some have wigspans of 3 feet!
Can drain a mans blood in 5 seconds!

Here is a true story as related to me by I nurse I dated once.
She spent one winter in Juneau, the capital. She was wrking 4 four blocks from where she rented an apartment, ( a flat for you Britts) but she had to rent a car to be able to get to work or she would have frozen to death trying to walk that far!
Her first day of work she went out to her car and found a Moose laying across the hood! with some effort and a whole lot of courage that I doubt I would have had she managed to get the huge beast off the car and got to work. The good side to this was that she didn’t have to clean the windshield or pre-warm the engine!
This went on for weeks, as the moose had some kind of an attraction or affection for her car.
Other than that, she said it was very boring, and the only thing to do was to go to bars and hang out with smelly Alaskans!  :-P
  Unless all you want to do is hide away in a cabin in the woods, go hunting and fishing everyday and be pretty much alone, (except for a few other smelly Alaskans) I’d say it is a grat place to visit, but I wouldn’t want to live there.

Alaska is amazing, besides the cold and 40 days of night…and the dreadfull bearing sea …but the landscape is absolutly breath takeing. I’ve never been, but it’s second to Germany in were I want to live. You know, you could live in the more southern part of Alaska, were it’s alittle more warmer, like the chain of coastline next to Canada.

The reseaon for the planes and such is because the land is too harsh to make roads, alto of areas have to be resupied by “bush pilots”

I just got done watching something on TV “Alaska, big america”. Aparently it’s the largest state, able to streatch from Floridia to callifornia, and N Dakota to texas!  :-o and 570,380 square miles (1,477,277 km²) with some 3.5 million lakes!! Bearing, the Russian founder, spent months traveling to Alalska, only to not set foot on land, and his crew, only having 10hrs on land. The Trans Alaskan pipelin suplies the US with tons of oil as well.
