I have read the Newt Gimgrich and William Forstchen  what if Gettysburg trilogy. Could not put them down.
Loved reading about generals I knew in a different context, but am aware is not WW2.

It seems mines in general are usually overlooked in WW2 History.  Not only were mines a danger to U-boats, much of the Allied shipping losses in the first 3 years of the war were attributed to mines.

When Hitler awakes from his coma his generals most likely declare him incompetent and have him put in some institution, allowing Germany to win the war.
Either that or he has them all shot for not following his agenda and once again the axis lose.

  Barbarossa was started too late to get the job done by the onset of winter, but they had to wait for the rains to let up and the dirt roads to dry out anyway. that pretty well covers the "too damned BIG " part of the problem.
