It will be harder to get taiwan though. They are prepared for an attack and its an island, im sure the americans will claim that taking some small islands can be just as hard as driving through europe to berlin.

The dutch were suprised by the blitzkrieg (we were planning on staying neutral and never feared an invasion). The germans allready took half our nation when the defences were formed (still disorganized). Then they landed behind our lines with parachutes, so we were stuck on a small piece of land. But we fought on bravely, then they bombed rotterdam to the ground with a lot of deads. Then we were forced to surrender.

It wasn’t eactly a surprise. The Belgians had found out about the invasion of hte Low COuntries and had informed Holland of it, but I guess they still hoped to stay neutral till the end. Have you ever visited Anee Frank’s house In Amsterdam?

The Netherlands never expected it, i wouldnt know if they were warned by belgium, probably so. The dutch people expected to be neutral again like in world war I, so there were virtually no worries about the upcoming danger, including politicians. But they should have learned from the poland experience to realize declaring war was something of the past and that surprise was germany’s biggest advantage in battle. I dont think we would have stood a chance anyway, we were outnumbered, our country is small, our army obsolete and germany had the best army at its time.

Russia lacking technology ? No… they lack the ressource to put in pratice their technology, they have tons of brilliant scientists/mathematicians. They lack organisation… russia was corrupted Before, While and After communism.

Also Oil will probably not be as important in 100 years as it is now. Not that i believe Islam will never be a major power (like it was), but i don’t think they will be because of the Oil.

Call me a conspiracy theorist, however i think that the Western World’s reliance on oil-based fuel is the only thing proping up the middle east’s power consortiums, and ironically this is caused by the republican party’s:1) catering to Texas and oil concersn, 2) anti-environment-pro-industry stance, and 3) catering to Michigan and the auto-industry. Once the western world cares more about the environment, and becomes creative (see: Ballard fuel cells etc.) about oil, then the middle east’s stock is going to fall rapidly.

Also Emugod i have been to and through Anne Frank’s house. wow. It’s unbelievable. The conspiracy theories still flutter as to who gave away the presence of the family.

Personally I agree, the reason we’re not shifting to Nuclear power is to appease the Texas Oil Barons.

I am against nuclear power, there’s a plant in Pickering. I say Geothermal power is the best, Iceland uses it. According to the Venus Project, a very interesting way to reform the use f technology and energy, there is enough Geothermal energy alone ot supply the world’s entire needs for 10000 years.

Japan would not succumb. Do not forget that they were defeating the Chinese during the Sino-Japanese Wars. They had taken Manchuria, knocked out the Chinese coast and were slowly advancing into the Chinese interior.

That was a long time ago. China is better equipt now. And their training and equipment are getting better every day.

Geothermal is a great power source, but you can’t access it everywhere. However, for places like Japan and Iceland, it is an amazing source of power.

First, if you are talking about standing militaries, between the U.S., South Korea, and Taiwan, they mass roughly 3 million, compared to the Chinese 3 million. If you go to reserves, we have over 3 million more, while the Chinese have another 3 million. Now you have to add the North Koreans to that, but their military is also in s sorry state. Plus, they would be overwhelmed quickly, limiting mobilization time. Seato forces would probably be slightly outnumbered, but they are much more advanced, better trained and with significantly more powerful air and sea power.

Second, if there is more of a build up, we would actually be in more of an advatage. The Chinese fielding a 200 million man army, don’t make me laugh, Yanny. How would they feed them? HOw would they arm them? How would they make up for the lost productiveity? Less farmers, less workers. How would they train them?

Seato could train more troops faster who are better trained and armed. With our massively superior air force, we could waste the inferior troops they can mobilize.

South Korea could take care of North Korea by itself. The economies and population of Seato can mobilize/support 10s of millions of troops.

One major obstacle is China’s nuclear arsenal. However, between all four countries’ intelligence agencies and the ABMD system and airpower we are developing (which is already being deployed/developed in Seato countries) we can neutralize missiles on the ground/interrupt chain of command to launch them/take them out in the air.

Finally, not everyone in China loves the government, We can contact anti-government groups and use them to our advantage.

Europe is also by far a union and imo not subject to strong patriotic values. Only a war against a major power outside of europe is able to make europe a strong military power.

You are european, and talk of the need of a strong military? Seems like you need some compensation for the world cup :) :) :)

I am pretty sure that (depending on how long the US stay the major power on this planet) the next or the one after that won’t need a dominant military anymore.
There won’t be any need tp “conquer” if you dominate economically.
Problem with the economy at the moment is, that it puts profit over everything, and trading with ‘banned’ countries is highly profitable. But, as this has to change, the need for the military decreases.

im strongly opposed to a bigger european army mind you. But its the only way to make europe into a world power again. I dont want us to become a world power, im sure we learned from the US experience…

200 million man army… of course not. How about 50 Million, with replaceable losses. China won’t worry much about 100,000 being lost in the battle, theres 150 million potential drafties out there.

The Chineese Air Force isn’t pathetic, remember they can see our Stealthe Bombers. The Bombers would likely be based in Japan. To bomb deep into China, they are going to go without Fighter Support. And we know what happens then.

China will overwhelm South Korea and Taiwan easily. Japan is another matter, but if the Chineese built up their navy in the pre war years, you never know. Keep in mind we’re not going to war this very second. China’s space program is well underway. Soon they will have spy satellites everywhere we do.
