Kar. should be taken the first turn, but only to partially delete it’s forces. Only as a blitzkrieg secondary effort to move your armor and fighters to Moscow. Destroy the UK navy all that you can also on the first turn. The Allies pose no threat in WE if you leave your forces there. Moscow can be taken in Round 2.

i really didn’t have to reply to this one, but seriously, how can you be so lucky? even the luckiest people i’ve played with wouldn’t dare that much. strategically, though, even if that did work i would buy all inf. instead of those armor because the krauts would likely be able to counterattack all those areas with the possible exc. of finland-norway.

HUGE rule change from 1st to second:

Commander-in-cheif rule:
An allied commander may use allied peices in an attack (i.e. Russia can use UK peices in Karlea to attack Ukrane). 1st edition only, eliminated because of the complete unfairness, but it was very historically accurate (D-Day was really D-Day)

Land rule:
Sea zone and land zone are THE SAME (i.e. 3 BBs could take WEu from germanby and hold it). VERY strange rule, I’m glad they got rid of it. 1st edition only.

I would probably suggest going against building an IC in Yakrut for Japan. It’s much more economical to just buy two transports instead. Usually when I set up an IC (India or Burma, maybe for both), it’s to produce ARM and not inf. I think that 6 ARM should be more than enough (if you factor in supporting inf) per Japan once it hits critical mass.

I AM NOT SAYING ROLL ALL DICE FIRST TURN.
I am just saying that even though there is a risk in buying tech, don’t ignore it!
I usually roll tech when I don’t need an extra tank or inf next turn as Japan, US, or UK. Not all turns, not everything on one turn; one or two dice here and there throught out the course of the game.

You need to destroy the Hawaii fleet to keep your back free. Its too much for japan to fight both fronts, thus i feel its better to take out Hawaii instantly.
I play with RR, and Japan has no trouble taking the Pacific.

But i guess its all relative.
