WHAT IF people of the 12-16 age range in countries outside the United States of America are generally more emotionally mature than people of the same age in the United States?
The United States is pretty weird socially. Think about it. It’s okay for kids to see lots of violence when they’re young (which HOPEFULLY they will not do when they get older), but they can’t have sex (which hopefully they WILL do when they get older), or drink (which is ALSO something they should do when they get older).
Funny thing is, you would think that there would be a generally direct or inverse relationship between proscribed and actual behaviors, but there isn’t so much. Which argues that there is a lack of discipline in general for people of younger ages in the United States as opposed to people of younger ages in other nations.
Or MAYBE it is because other nations keep up totalitarian regimes that oppress their youths.
In short - everything’s subjective, and I’m moving to Yemen to be an high school instructor.
