War at Sea Rulebook Released

I much prefer War at Sea to the land based minis game.

Pretty simple and plays quick. If you want detailed this one probably isn’t it but it is light and quick and it has the Enterprise!

The previous link for the Guadalcanal miniatures campaign alternates between Axis & Allies Miniatures battles and War at Sea Battles. It does not tie in with their Guadalcanal board game. I don’t think they have yet to combine all three games into one campaign. I’d like to try something like that at my local game scene because I think it would be to difficult to do via PBEM.

I certainly am not disagreeing with you on the historical concept and especially with the War at Sea where you can play with ships that actually represent ships that were in the fleet on a particular day.  There are however many books out there, written by dreamers and histoirians alike, that attempt to paint the “what if” scenarios just like we do with these games when we try to start within a historical context and then see how things turn out.

Therefore, if one wants to explore the idea of the Battle of the Atlantic with a German air carrier capability one will have to borrow a ship from some other nation to represent the concept that Admiral Raeder was successful in his fleet developments during the 1930s.

OMG!!  I cant wait for WaS to come out.  I love how the minis look.  It pwns!!

For those who are trying to combine the Land and Sea Axis & Allies Miniatures.  Go to http://www.wizards.com/default.asp?x=ah/aam/maps and download the June Map.  It contains a few pages that are JUST water.

Also, I’m looking for some intrepid individuals who’d like to write up a Winter-themed scenario for a future KA issue. The Winter War, Battle of the Bulge, or a scenario during the Russian Winter would all be good examples, but you are by no means limited to them. More holiday (less Historical) scenarios, such as assaults on Santa’s Workshop will be considered as well.
