Newbie needs suggestions on German/American armies

OK, I looked up the wording:

“Instead of attacking during your assualt phase”

It can only be used on your own assault phase.

You are right on.

The best officer is the Brit with his “Tally Ho” ability to move the troops along at a speed of two hexes.  If you set up right you can litterally move 14 troops at double speed.

Thats what I thought, but I think it was worth asking.

That V1 is pretty sexy, the buildings are sweet as well.

AAR for the 1939 100pt force
After all the replies I got I decided to switch and go with a mixed anglo-french force :-(

1 Spitfire
1 Char B
1 Souma
1 Bofor
1 royal engineer
1 observer
1 bren gunner
1 french officer
2 Mas rifle men
1 Liebel Grenadier
1 tank obstical

it was a small turnout (something about a soccer game)
4 armies showed up
2 German (built around the Pzgf IV elites)
My sons French army (1 Char B, 1 Souma, 2 Renaults, 2 Bofor’s and misc. French inf.)
And mine
After the dust settled my son came in 1’st (winning all 3 games), the Germans came in 2’nd and 3’rd and my force came in last (being defeated by all 3 armies)

Next time its 1940 and 100 pts

Sounds like your opponent was using a Tier 3 army at best; hardly tournement calibre.

Be that as it may, your army isn’t bad.  Whenever you make a UK army the Churchill Crocodile is generally a primary consideration.  The Comet has it’s uses, but I just don’t like the 3 rear defence on such an expensive unit.  It’s still fairly easily disrupted, and just about everything can get past a 2 defence.

Your army makes effective use of the Lieutenant with both Gurkhas and allowing the 17 pounder to move during the movement phase.  The Stuarts provide adequate support for the slow moving Crocodile.

I guess my challenge would be getting used to those maps again.

I was thinking of lettered columns and numbered rows, like battleship. Use the facing as described above. Counting movements should not be a prob. I think a code chart for unit shorthand would be wise too, to speed the play.
